Sorry for my late reply. I'll message you so this doesn't get buried in notifications again.
Are Juarez's TAS runs going to be removed? His TASes that he tried to pass off as real runs were removed from the Sunset Riders (Genesis) leaderboards. They need to be removed from here as well.
That's a good question. I'm not sure. I don't know how much emulator saves/loses over console for this game. My gut feeling would be to say yes and allow them, since the game can't be acquired on console anymore. I could always make separate categories for emulator as well, if there's an issue with timing differences.
So I'll say yes, unless anyone has any objections.
A couple more things I want to add:
Runs must be on an official vanilla release of SFF2. No mods, even if they don't affect gameplay.
Video hosting sites such as Streamable, which delete videos after a while, are not allowed.
These changes apply as of right now. Runs previously on the leaderboard will stay there, unless suspected of cheating.
Up until now, only 1st place runs required video, and screenshot proof was acceptable for anything under.
Now, top 5 runs require the WHOLE RUN to be recorded on video. No exceptions.
You may still submit a screenshot for anything under 5th, although it is highly encouraged that you record a video.
Mods also have the right to reject a run if they suspect any illegitimacy or cheating, even if unintentional.
True, but I'll keep it up as its own category for the memes. Lol
You know what, I'll just go ahead and separate them, cause I see this being too devisive going forward if it's kept this way.
He did. The video is 2 runs in one.
The coinless run starts at the beginning, then he switches tabs to do the other run. He switches back to the 1st tab at the end and shows he went 8:02 with no coins.
It's certainly debatable if this should even count, or if it should be a separate category.
I suppose we could take a vote on it? Idk.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
He found a glitch/exploit to go 8 minutes with no coins. Lol
It's a meme category in a meme game.

We'll be happy to answer any other questions you have here, as well as share resources, strategies, etc.
You can use any version of Beta to run Beta categories. It would be too much work and make the boards too cluttered and ugly looking if we created new categories/separated versions every time a new version comes out.
This may be reconsidered in the future. For now though, all versions are ranked together. Archives of past versions can be found on McLeodGamings website. It has most versions you would need. If you need a version that's not archived there, you can DM me on src or discord.
SukeSJ has been added as a moderator. He's been a mod on our Category Extensions page for a while now, and has done a great job. I decided to add him here as well.
I'd like to be made a Super Mod on Super Smash Bros Crusade. https://www.speedrun.com/ssbc
I am already a Mod for this game, however, the 1 Super Mod (Dracobat10) has been inactive for 2 years, and has cut ties with everyone from the community. It is impossible to contact him. I'd like to be able to add new mods to the game.
Thank you.
It could be, but that would require us to remove the character variable for all "Full Game" categories, and make character variables for each other full game category individually. In short, it would be a major pain as far as leaderboard editing goes if we did that.
I'll add onto this that there have also been some runs that end on the frame you kill Master Hand, or the frame before. To be on the safe side, let the recording go on a little bit longer after killing the boss, so that your run has a clear beginning AND ending for proper timing.
Faster loads, less lag frames. The biggest drawbacks are no notches on the controller, fludd spraying slower, and jump/talk being on the same button. Overall the 3das version is faster from what I understand.
3D All-Stars has its own leaderboard where that version of the game is tracked. https://www.speedrun.com/sm3das
