Update: A couple days ago, Salad found a value that shows an RTA-like time, which keeps moving throughout the whole level, and doesn't stop through cutscenes, or deaths. It does stop with pauses though, but unlike the official timer, you can't abuse it with pause buffering.

The whole idea would be to grab every collectable, and finish, regardless of the rank. That's why I called it "All Collectibles" unlike RE5's "100%" that does include getting S on every sub-chapter. I did not take that last one into account when doing this. I did know that happened, I just forgot it. But yeah, I guess we could go with just showing the blocked command. I will add that to the category rules, also that such items have to be mentioned in the description of every submission.

So recently, we found a cheat engine file, made by XemesisKO, found by TheDementedSalad, that allows us to see, between many things, the clear time of the current map, basically the IGT we've been using so far.

I made a 10 minute demo regarding five aspects of the timer, the start of each episode, the behavior in movie cutscenes, standing cutscenes (for example, the start of chapter 4, 6, and 7), deaths, this one being the most important of all, and timer manipulation.

Fastynator showed some concern about that a while ago, and turns out that he was right.

I believe that using loadless RTA from now on would be the best option. It's either that, or make any runs that include deaths invalid.

Due to the game's IGT being very hard to manipulate (unlike re5 or other games), I have decided to remove the segmented category. In its place, I added all collectibles.

Chapter 5 is whack as fu**, there's quite a few softlocks in that one. Did you use to go for a deathless run in that chapter? I saw that you died in your run

I say go for it. As of now, we don't know much about the differences between each version. Fastynator was analyzing some differences in the timer between PS3, X360 and PC. All I ask is that if you can, name the version you use when submitting a run. It might help for future strats or timesaves.

I did it without asking, but I did what's in the title. Went from X360 - PC - PS3 to PC - PS3 - X360. Mostly because PC has lots of runs, and the fastest times are achievable there (not bragging, it is the way it is). PS3, while it doesn't have the second fastest times, has way more runs than X360, and in various difficulties. Coop leaderboards were left untouched.

The timer just doesn't make any sense in chapter 7. I have been applying one of your strats (jumping down a container) on it, and even doing the whole chapter faster made me lose time over my gold. It saves around 40 seconds over it RTA though. Also, from what you said, I think I might have "cheated" on my pb run. I usually alt-tab a lot on the last cutscene because I find it funny how Leon says "Why are you doing this?" on repeat if you do that on that line, something I didn't apply on practice so... I'm just guessing, but it could be why I only lost a minute over gold.

I'm gonna guess that the timer stops as soon as you die, and keeps on going as soon as you gain control. Cinematic cutscenes like end of the line's choice don't move the timer as well, which could mean that my 4:25 was because of a 15/20 second timeloss per death. Environment cutscenes (like ep6's beginning cutscene, or Nicholai's speech at the start of ep3) seem to move the timer though.

It makes a lot of sense. I was always surprised on how runs on ps3 or x360 were so slow compared to my pb (53:58, not submitted), even though my runs are bad, and died multiple times.

I wish I could make a livesplit plugin for this, I'm really interested on some possible skips/timesaves regarding igt.

Something I've been meaning to ask for a while As we all know, the pc version of this is completely whack. There are ways to make it playable, or at least in my case, got it to run the whole way with some fan made fixes. Would it be possible to get a category extension for it? I don't want to ask for it to be on the normal leaderboards because there's even fixes to make it run at 60fps.

What the title says, I got used to using the grenade launcher (which comes with the special edition) on chapter 4, but I can faintly remember reading something about DLC weapons not being allowed because it made the game unfair for those who only own the vanilla game.

I have many questions about how the 1-1 timer works, sorry if it's already been asked, but I couldn't find it. Does it start after the executioner destroys the gate, or after the cutscene? How much time is it until the episode ends? And is it affected by the executioner's death?
