I love how to original Landing Theme plays in your debug room video in the beginning haha

It's really hard for anyone to help when they can't see what's happening; try taking a video recording with input display so people can see where you're going wrong with your manipulation.

No one is going to be able to guess what exact execution mistake you're making.

100%! If you use Discord, I'd love to chat! Thank you :)

So, as much as I appreciate your elaborate insight, that doesn't really address the question.

Okay.. after more investigation, maybe not an obscene amount of money for a cart, but I guess that doesn't change the nature of the question

Thank you for your replies!

Hello everyone! While I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, what is the logic for banning Everdrives? While I can understand hiding emulator runs for the sanctity of hardware load times, it seems like a backwards mentality to ban a ROM that runs on the N64 systems hardware legitimately?

It just seems like an additional hoop to jump through when wanting to play this game while I have original hardware with the original game ROM.

The only way to get a visible leaderboard time is to pay an obscene amount of money for one very specific cartridge with a label, rather than use my Everdrive64 X7.. which includes 100% of the same components and data as the original cartridge ??

Hello! I'm thinking about learning Sonic the Hedgehog Glitchless for the 12-hour challenge this weekend but I'm having a rough time trying to figure out how console-based speedruns handle timing with the "Time On Screen (SVS)" LiveSplits Module and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on getting that set up? Thanks!

I have the spreadsheet that he had in his video, but it doesn't reference the battle setup/stepID setup with walking steps like the video had. :/ IIRC it was 18 battles and some L+R walking movement by the cave entrance, but as for the specific ID, I can't remember. :/

Would that differ from the All Emeralds run?

Yep, Slots is just a category using CS's limit break Slots to beat every boss after Materia Keeper.

You can run it on an emulator and submit it to the PSX Digital any% category if you don't run it on Switch. As far as I see, there have only been No Slots runs submitted for the PSX Digital category but I'm sure you'd spark some interest in other runners if you submitted!

Welcome! Did you want to run Slots or No Slots any%? I'm no expert, still learning the entirety of the route (PSX No Slots any%) but from my understanding of watching way too many video-guides, FFVII ports (PC/PS4/Switch) behave /almost/ the same as PSX versions of the game. (i.e StepID and Fractions are a little bit more "lenient" in the ported versions of FFVII, so you get more room for error with your steps and movement) [Step Count will vary slightly between PSX and a digital port]

With that being said, you can totally run on the Switch. I would advise against practicing on the Switch; and just practice movement, ATB wait trick, and menuing on an emulator, so you can just save and load states to save lots of time and learn the route.

Feel free to message me on Discord, I can help you out with setup if you'd like! Cheers

Speculating, but could these FPS inaccuracies across platforms stem from types of displays used? I know NTSC and PAL scan/field lines vary, depending on the /many/ factors that come into the engineering of the display (525/60 for NTSC, 625/50 for PAL for scan/field lines)

I know this is a moot point because we're talking FF7 speedrunning categories, but interesting! The FPS pull would definitely feel random, as people's displays vary greatly.
