There's only four medals available, so it might look strange to have Gold-Silver-Bronze be 2nd-4th place. I also decided to simply keep the icons that were already established, rather than come up with a new system.
What could be a good sequence of four icons, I wonder?
To adress these concerns:
Firstly, there's always the option of adding more categories in the future. We can worry about that when every monster has been loved.
Secondly, saying that 'every record will be at lowest level' is blatantly untrue. You can take one look at the Any% leaderboards and see that, a lot of the time, higher levels allow for better damage and faster times.
As for orphaned runs, feel free to resubmit any videos that disappeared, though I did my best to keep past runs available.
And lastly, speedrunning is a competition. It's explicitly about finding the best strategies, and executing them as precisely as possible. If that's not for you, that's understandable, but please don't disrespect players for attempting to optimize a category.
Thank you for the input!
For Quickplay, I'd really like to have as few separate listings per monster as possible. The categories that seem the most sensible are Any% (Any Level, Any Medal), Radiant% (Any Level), Max Level (Any Medal), and Max Level Radiant. Out of those, I'd suggest we choose two or three to feature.
Personally, I'm leaning toward Any Level Radiant and Max Level Radiant. As cool as Any% sounds, it would be incredibly homogenous, with all top times likely using Alter Devil, getting hit once, then panicking through the fight.
As for full game runs, it may be useful - at least for now - to combine all characters into one leaderboard, and splitting off the individual characters as the boards fill.
Keep in mind, all of this is to make it easier to actually find existing runs, without needing to sift through a bunch of drop-downs first.
Hello there!
If you've made it this far, you're probably wondering about the state of the leaderboard. Needless to say, it is in a barely useable state as of writing, and we need your help to make it more easily accessible for the community at large.
The biggest step we need to make is to reduce the number of different (sub-)categories. As such, I propose the following:
Altered Story -- Separate categories for all characters; Purist ONLY; NO split categories for run length; Unsure whether to split by difficulty
Towers -- Unchanged
Quickplay (ILs) -- Only one category per monster (max level); Split between Any% and Radiant; NO Overpowering; For Shiny Battles, longest time ranks highest
If you have any ideas you want to share, please do! Either post them here or in the game's Discord server.
