Time to dust off the ol' keyboard and get this one back. If only I still had my notes on every possible chapter lol.

So first and foremost, you do have to go into properties and ensure auto-update is off. That is step 1.

Step 2. From what you described, I feel as though you made the same mistake that I, as well as many others I've seen also made. Which would be you didn't merge the files. The files you get from the dropbox are not ALL of the files for the entire game. Simply the ones that need to be changed. What you need to do instead of downloading the files and then copy pasting them into their own folder, you need to copy the new files, and then merge them with the existing files.

Step 3. If you ever want to play the DLC, you will need to do one of two things. Either have the current patch files saved elsewhere/under a new name. Or simply update the game.

I am terrible at explaining these things but I hope I could be of some help. Just remember, you aren't putting the files into a new folder, simply merging them with the existing files.

Alright, I'm going in. I'll figure out if this is repeatable so that Kev can get a WR with it.

That Night 77 is what nightmares are made of. I've lost several good runs by doing silly things there. Good job finishing strong though.

Very true haha. I mean, Bakonoe has said he has a route, but he hasn't done a run of it. Also, I'm watching your run right now and I followed your twitch. Excited to see this PB!

Yeah it has happened before and I posted it somewhere on the forum (can't remember which post it was in). It appears to happen because you can step onto one part of his body which allows you to clip through the rest of his body. Somebody also said it was easier to do on the PS4. But I'm not sure if that is true.

Great to see somebody running this again! Maybe I should route my 100% out haha. Or get that Any% WR...

It doesn't appear to be any faster, going to the generator. I went to the generator, the outhouse, and used the Forest Byrnes sign and they all appeared to be the exact same time. Unless I am simply missing something, it appears that any dialogue skip triggers the line at the same time.

Hey guys. I found a new glitch. Or at least I think it is new. In the caves on Day 79, when waiting next to Brian's body to step over him, you can walk through him without the animation. I'm not sure if this is known already or not, but I haven't seen anything on it yet so I figured I'd say something.

I was simply standing over his body spam clicking when I noticed that I seemed to step on his body for a moment. I then walked forward right over his body and skipped the whole, stepping over body, animation. The video below is the worst quality ever, but that's all my computer can do haha.

Start the video at 58:07 to see what I'm talking about. Sorry about the quality. If you put the volume at half, it sounds much better.

I've tested the skip in the caves and honestly, I'm really not sure if it's faster. Because you aren't sprinting before the animation, and the fact that the animation lunges you forwards more than at your tower, I'm not sure if it's really faster. Maybe, if timed very well, it is quicker, but to be honest I'm not really sure.

EDIT: It is definitely faster if done correct.

The animation skip can also be used in the caves on Day 79. There is one part where Henry reaches up to grab the ceiling and lean under it. Fairly certain that animation can be skipped using the same strategy. At least it worked the one time I tested it yesterday.

From what I understand, nearly the whole run is making decisions. With each floor being almost 100% random, everything from getting keys to who should he fight. The toughest decision looked to be whether or not to grind for more health or YOLO the boss. I don't run the game or know the runner, but honestly I enjoyed the run. Saying it "made you cringe" or "I found it boring" was pretty rude tbh.

Everybody's reality changes when they tune into Ryan Lockwood's stream. He is actually one of the first speedrunners that inspired me to run games. His passion is both hilarious and inspiring. Dude is a legend.
