I did some break the target runs once for fun and I did them using an ED64 Plus. Would I be allowed to submit these?

I want to speedrun the game but I want to know some things about what it's like to speedrun it on PS5. How different is it from pc? Do i have to modify my game to go to a previous patch of the game or can I just use the most recent one? There my main 2 questions.

I'm trying to follow the world record speedrun for any% and at the start of a cutscene they just hold X and it skips it but this doesn't work for me.
