thought I'd join since i recently played through the game and wanna give it a go
In 2 days we will add Glitchless as a category to the main boards, and alter the rules for legacy
new rules can be viewed here https://docs.google.com/document/d/12fbA_HTZhHUPEBCjk8ti4OHemhOGe42lyFeEAPFznqc/edit
Due to a recent livesplit component for Dishonored, the game allows us to speed up about 9 mins of cutscenes, this component also speeds up the livesplit timer, so the RTA time is about 24 mins, while LRT comes out to about 32 mins for top level runs. With current site configuration we can not input our RTA times with this mod. Any way we can get an option to disable this blocker?
Speedrun.com forums are a very slow way of communicating and have limitations in terms of people not checking them often, I propose we make a community discord for strat discussion, troubleshooting, run sharing, sharing when we go live tl;dr: discord good forums bad
Hi! The Dishonored (2012) moderation team has been looking at changing up our leaderboards for quite a while (moving categories around and into subcategories while making a few new ones), but have put it off as we haven't been able to find a good, safe and managable way to switch things around. There is over a 1000 runs we currently have to move manually to the new setup and considering we don't want to lose any runs including obsoletes, we hope there might be a way for a site admin to help us move all runs through the site back end.
If we don't hear back before Saturday we will continue with our plan of doing it manually, but it would be super helpful if we could have someone look at this with us. Unsure of where to write this, so did it here :)
Their leaderboard for speedruns is generally more optimized for main categories such as EEs over there. People keep claiming their runs to be WRs as they have no knowledge of the other leaderboard existing. Speedrun.com even has direct support for external leaderboard sites in the sidebar.
I don't attribute this to malice, but I do find it confusing.
Why isn't it linked? :)
I made this sheet with a lot of help from @rexy that will help us know what the potential of any% can be.
EDIT (Jan 2020): These leaderboards have been added to the category extensions, current records are added there now.
Hi! I have created a leaderboard for Minimum Blink as it is a surprisingly good category. The current record is 44:22 with 7 blinks (very beatable! SoB is 42:43)
** Click here for the leaderboards
*Note: I do not think MinBlink should be added as a category for the game, but I still think it is a really fun run that some peepo might very much enjoy. *
EDIT (Jan 2020): These leaderboards have been added to the category extensions, current records are added there now.
Hi! So as you might know, DCT does not have a space on the srcom leaderboards, so with some of them being decent runs, some of us made a spreadsheet to keep track of the records for each run in DCT.
The (YES) tag means a category is any% glitched, just get a time. (Mystery foe should take about a second to finish in Normal (YES)). (NO) means that you finish the mission with a success, glitchless. The "Actually good categories" are the ones that I'd recommend checking out, they're fun, the rest are kinda stupid.

When getting into low round speedruns in this game, knowing the spawn abuses is crucial. Town has a massive one, same does farm. I am planning on making a comprehensive list of the known abuses and need help gathering the ones I don't know about. If you know about an abuse (outside of the early round town/farm strats) then please comment!
Hi! I did some test runs and ran the numbers to see if there was a substantial difference in load times between runs.
Full findings here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18i3GVxy1VRyxmTJdwYJIWrryWlUAybz112Oa1aJINzs/edit?usp=sharing
In an ideal world, we would now make an autosplitter with load removal, but since the game is pretty much dead, I hardly think that will happen. Manual load removal is a pain in the ass, but it might be worth.
Tl;dr: Some computers have shorter load times. Load times per computer seem consistent. SlyCrossfox's any% run is #2 on the boards if we remove loads.
Wouldn't 100% just be an any% run where you manage to do everything fast enough, speed dividing the categories make no sense since 100% WR will almost always be the any% WR
Hi! I made an estimate of the amount of time used in cutscenes and end screens during the any% run. Conclusion is (spoiler alert!) just over 20 minutes.
