The run usually starts as soon as the first input is possible or the run is started. In this case, the run is started when you press the start button. However, it would be unfair to have the first 3 seconds of the run not be doing anything. Therefore, it starts at the GO. In addition, It is hard to see exactly when the first input (first move played) is possible to be made.
thank u
but thats like not happening, best is probably 4:54.7 no l4-2
first comment pog amazing run that needs to be beaten (two years lol)
we need to keep it fair, but maybe in the future, assist mode may be added as a sub-category
i want to use aisson for the category, but i don't know how. i use nestopia ue. can somebody tell me the steps? thanks!

in 4-2, backward jumps or wallclips are needed to put mario to the right of the screen for wrong warp. one of the challenges i've been doing is to see how far mario can get to the right of the screen before he has to exit the level at the pipe at the end (don't take the warp). Can you guys get mario all the way to the right of the screen?
personally, playing on computer for nestopia or some other emulator and screenrecording is the easiest and requires little effort. but if you are playing an an actual console, then i do not know
Last question: In the input settings where it says "Allow up/down & left/right simultaneously, the box should be un-checked, right?
- is nestopia UE a valid emulator to run? (sry i'm noob and just started to speedrun the game) and where is the link to download the latest version
- https://www.speedrun.com/smb1/thread/a3gcu I saw this forum, is this a known glitch with UE, or just something with a keyboard?
Hi, I've just started learning to any% this game two days ago, and I use nestopia emulator on windows 10. Question 1: Is any version of nestopia fine? Question 2: I use left arrow keys for movement and shift for run. But since L+R is banned, how do I avoid accidentally pressing it? is there some sort of way I can turn it off in the settings?
