Of course banning venues with pits will require more skill. I just can't see making some obscure leaderboard for the game that doesn't have clear-cut, easy to understand rules. And disallowing three of the venues is just too arbitrary.
I agree that Versus based on character is more interesting than based on venue, but there isn't a way to set up a leaderboard without hundreds of subcategories that would make sense without following the logic of not banning venues.
Another option is making the venue a variable, not a subcategory.
I agree that the full game category would make more sense for Versus. But I'm not in favor of just banning certain maps because they're faster. That's just silly. It's speedrun.com
Versus categories would be interesting! If there is sufficient competition or users requesting it, it can certainly be added to the leaderboards.
Interesting find! What were you trying to do when you found this?
This is very interesting. Thank you for the post! We'll definitely have to figure out the discrepancy with the timer.
Timing starts when Tokonata clicks on level 1 (or the first frame the life counter is shown). This is an "Any%" run, where there are no restrictions when or where you're allowed to warp levels. Tokonata warped earlier than the other runs do, but that does not mean that his run should not be allowed.
That's a great idea and we're open to it!. Run one, and they will more seriously be considered to be added to the leaderboard.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a hitman! This user will be awarded a WHOPPING $10 USD for the first human to achieve the unthinkable; completing the first run of "Bloons Insanity Any%" in 55:57.This man is pioneering our way into an undiscovered realm of speedrunning. Who knows what lies further down in the belly of this wretched beast of a game?
Going forwarrd, may the 4th of July not only commemorate the State's independence as a nation, but remind us speedrunners the glorious day we were set free as a united people from the ever-taunting slave master called Bloons Insanity.
I am humbled to have been able to witness this monumental defeat on this day.

I have this problem too. I believe it's just a faulty game mechanic.
Yes, but it will cost one minute per level skip as a penalty as per the current rules.
This was discovered a few years ago and is still used in speedruns to this day.
I have zero tolerance for people trying to cheat their way to the top. Earlier today I received a run, and frankly what I watched was quite obscene. I really did expect more from this user, as I felt they earned a title for the WR holder after making their way to 2nd place less than a month ago. But instead of grinding attempts and figuring out faster methods for the enrichment of the community, we get a slap in the face from this user, Pagsi, as he/she attempts to splice out a couple cheeky seconds during an animation cutscene in hopes nobody will notice. Below is a video I made as evidence to warrant this user's ban from submitting runs in the future. I hope I'm wrong, but this is how it appears.
Hopefully it's a new strategy that no one else knows about. Or hopefully this user is playing a different version of the game than the rest of us. But his/her previous PB video had the same animation timing as everyone else.
Please do not let this message come across as an attack, but rather a learning experience for us all. I hope this user responds below with a case for this being legitmate, and we can move on.
Disappointed, f1
