Good news, looks like we're getting both Famicom and NES (soon) in an update. That means both versions woo
was only planning to use it for practice and not for actual runs for most of the games I have carts of, but nice to know
That was my guess. I'm hoping it's fairly straightforward emulation so I can get realistic practice on the go.
Just a question about the new collection. Will the new runs be added as new platforms. Will we get collection categories if major changes in gameplay speed/emulation or will they be filed under emu runs? I'm mostly looking forward to practicing on Switch.

I have it on both PC and Switch, and I honestly would like to be able to use both almost interchangably, mostly since if I'm on switch I can swap between a few games I run (Toejam and Earl included) to do back-to-back runs for PBs if I have a solid 4 hour block to do runs. 3 of the games I run are on Switch, but I could also try to use PC if I need to for now as well and just "practice" on the go with Switch. Filters is nice, but if the disparity continues there MIGHT need to be some console/pc separation if the disparity in load times is too big to discount.
Just checked out the rules and was wondering if the hats go against the "starting presents" rule or not? They aren't a present and they are randomized per level if turned on. Was just wondering whether they need to be off or not.
I got a few people who would enjoy co OP. But thanks for the quick reply
Was playing earlier and wanted to see how the speedruns are set up and I'm noticing one big thing missing: multiplayer. The game is built for both online and couch multiplayer yet the run types seem to only be split into the different difficulties (fixed, Random, hard random). Is there any intent to add sub-categories for single/multiplayer of those runs? Or would that just be a special thing that you could maybe do for marathon runs where you do it co-op?
So, oddly, while practicing a different trick for a different route, I am wondering, is there anyone willing to do a video tutorial (even if it's just game sounds) using emulator with the input display on? or, just... having input display on a video of someone doing it? I know JC does his hand cam but buttons get obscured and all that jazz... that might be as helpful/more helpful than text. just a thought
I, too, would enjoy a good read of that guide but not sure if anyone wants to divulge those secrets to us plebs yet. I know the getting to the wrong warp involves a very interesting Grant/Trevor swapping glitch, but I have yet to nail even that part (not like I've tried long). but I'd love to have an official "how to" on it so I could maybe expand beyond the single-character runs someday in the future.
And I'm guessing the same goes if you add it to your NES/SNES classic (as i believe it is a game they really should have added) to just list it as emulator (as that's what it becomes since it's not the base games for the NES Classic) Would that be correct?
