thread: Tetris DS

As long as adding Tetris DS doesn't remove it from the Tetris series, I don't see why not.

You haven't even submitted a run yet, unless you're hoarding a 56 or low 57 it's probably not a good idea to go for it in runs. edit: wait somehow I read that as 1-2 clip. Oops. I can't give you advice on it but still, there are easier methods that are only a few framerules slower, which you should probably learn first.

Rip my any% run Oh well, at least it'll be fairly easy to beat it while recording.

Victoria, Australiacros1076 years ago

By "drived upside" you mean jumped over?

In any case, could you please provide a full video of you making it to the other side?

Victoria, Australiacros1076 years ago

"Something like that" Doesn't it involve driving on an invisible wall?

Upload to youtube and link it here.

If you're on emulator there's no excuse not to record. Use the "Record AVI" function and you will record at 60fps, even if the emulator lags.

Edit: Wait I just looked at the screenshots, is that a mobile emulator you're using??

In that case you can record with a screen recorder (if you can emulate DS you can record no problem), however the shortcut may be as a result of emulator collision inaccuracies. Not sure though, would lvoe to be proven wrong.

If the entrance value is stored as an entity like an enemy it's possible that we might be able to do some fancy stuff with unloading and reloading or something but I seriously doubt it.

I'd like to see ILs become a thing now that the trainer exists. I think it would require video evidence though, due to the moving through walls thing. Thoughts?

Lol when I was younger I used to play with left hand on left stick, pretty sure I used the ring finger on my right hand. Would not recommend it in hindsight but I remember being able to play comfortably with it, so who knows.

Victoria, Australiacros1076 years ago

Whatever you get used to. Most people use left hand in the middle but some people like left hand on right prong and stretch their thumb out (not recommended if you have small hands lol)

Literally read the post above you. You can use a webcam or a phone pointed at the DS, or pay a few hundred for a capture card.

Very hard. So hard it isn't even used once in the TT WR.

He has a 1:06.190 (if you're using this to compare skill levels then don't, his glitch times are a lower standard than his non glitch times).

You're meant to add in the load times between cups too.

Sub 1 hour will never happen without some sort of stupid lapskip strat being found (which is unlikely, as this game still doesn't have any game breaking mechanics). As Goomba said, with perfect execution, perfect RNG and no load times the time would only be 55 minutes. Load times already add several minutes, plus unavoidable CPU RNG, plus nobody being that consistent.

also "but I've probably played more Mario kart than you"

lol sure

Most of the strats can easily be learned by just watching WR and playing the game. Usually the strats you can't learn from watching a video are hard to pull off in 32 track speedruns anyway, and not really required to get a good time.

Victoria, Australiacros1076 years ago

Are you sure you set times for every split before resetting?

Victoria, Australiacros1076 years ago

You need to enable global hotkeys in settings.

No$GBA runs better but has a couple graphical glitches. You could try that.
