No need to be rude about it.

Krytical, any questions about specific games should be asked in the forum for that game. DKC2 has its own forum here: https://www.speedrun.com/dkc2

It would appear Switch is allowed however if in doubt, ask at the link above.

Good stuff, hope the game gets traction and a good community behind it :)

Here is the site's feedback form if you think the rule is asinine:

Please be polite in your feedback.

Less than an hour? Streets Of Rage 4 has 17 characters with 5 difficulties each, which take roughly between 35 minutes at the lowest end to maybe 1:15 to 1:30 at the highest end, so averages an hour for a full run.

However, there is also Boss Rush mode which is anywhere between 8 to 18 minutes.

AND we have just introduced Individual Level leaderboards, so you could jump into that to begin with and put up some 3 to 6 minute level runs.

Plenty of variety all in one game, which is available on PC too.

Like Pear has said, it is basically impossible for us to say. You might as well do it and submit it to find out.

If you're not willing to at least segment run it before requesting without absolute confirmation that it will be accepted, the verifiers may question your resolve to maintain the boards, in my opinion.

Hi Francine! Which game?

Hi Boxxie, pleased to meet you.

The general advice is always to pick a game you enjoy playing casually first of all, then try to improve that.

However - what kind of games do you enjoy? Maybe I can be more specific if we knew that.

Link's Awakening and Oracle Of Seasons are both good games.

Nice, good work. I might record my next session and submit if I get anything good.

Resi 7 is a great game to speedrun, I enjoy watching it. That's a shame. I had a few issues sometimes uploading runs as Twitch cuts off the first couple of minutes of a stream sometimes, so now I let it run for at least 90 seconds before even starting a menu.

Scotlandckellyspeedruns4 years ago

Excellent list of people to aspire to! What kind of games do you like?

Scotlandckellyspeedruns4 years ago

If you stream on Twitch, you can "highlight" your stream to keep the video online forever.

If you can't stream on Twitch or upload to YouTube, then you could try recording your screen with something like a video camera, phone, etc.

But as Timmiluvs says, check with the community of the game you are submitting to as some have certain rules.

Yeah the tone on both sides is pretty disgusting and not very welcoming at all :/

It's a pretty simple discussion: should Mr Krabs be accepted due to its popularity, or rejected because it is "trivial"?

The answer was already provided: maintain a Google Doc to prove its legitimacy (which has now been set up). Once it's been maintained for a while, there's no harm in re-submitting the game further down the road.

But calling each other idiots and stuff is only going to harm us as a collective. We can still discuss at which point the game stops being considered trivial without resorting to insults surely?
