This really sucks. As it stands I'd have to manually edit 783 runs - according to the Super Monkey Ball stats page - for them to all read "Wii" as their console choice. I swear this used to be a feature? Either I'm completely blind, or the site needs an update asap.
Also, manually making our own variable won't solve the issue, as it won't be added into the correct column, nor show up properly on the sites dedicated console pages...
Pretty cool stuff, I think it should totally be allowed. Makes me wonder what else might be manipulable too. For example can you drop items for others to pickup on Tutorial Island? Will have to do some testing soon.
No worries, thanks for the quick response and for amending the issue!
Mod note reads that the timer lagged. It doesn't. This is merely a graphical change that always happens when you split with the timer the runner is using (wsplit). I downloaded the run and framecounted it myself to 10.623 from the first frame the character menu disappears to the first frame appearing in Lumbridge. Please fix this and be more thorough with moderation in the future. Thanks.
It's actually really simple to perform, you just jump and land on the very edge pixel of a spikes hitbox. Unfortunately it's a frame perfect trick, so not the easiest thing to pull off everywhere you'd like in a run. As for the reason why this works I'm not really sure!
Standardised timing across all platforms is the fairest option for everyone imo. Everything else I don't really mind about.
I have encountered this many times before to a lesser degree whilst routing. JesesFTB explained it me, but I cant remember exactly what causes this anymore. It was something to do with the longer you spend on moving platforms, the further ahead it pushed objects on the screen, or vice-versa.
Agreed with Fragger, I think Tutorial Island should be moved to the Full-game leaderboard and not hidden away where no one can see it when it's more than 10 fold the most ran category on the page.
That's okay. My biggest gripe was with categories such as "ALL F2P QUESTS (((apart from these few I personally didn't feel like doing)))" being given presidence over more inclusive runs. Just seems a bit silly in my opinion. Shouldn't the top categories on the page be of the intact, actually doing every quest etc. stuff with the misc. drop menu serving to list the more arbitrary categories?
Hey ya. I speedrun Bucky O'Hare and would like for it to be added to the games list. We're a small community looking for a place to house our times. ^_^
