I could not replicate it after several attempts, it felt like the elevator moved up without waiting for it, and I was halfway across when it was raised up. It feels ever so slightly faster, however maybe a lucky chance is all I can hope for another clip

Hello Ring Fit Adventure speedrunners, I was wondering if this clip is something known, it happened purely by accident while jamming to a playlist. I can't remember if I jumped or air blasted at a specific moment: was in Custom Levels, Dashalong Tower.

This thread does contain previously stated knowledge of the difficulty settings, how we navigate any rules going forward can go in a new thread I suppose.

Hello, this is a brand new fresh thread to talk about adjusting difficulty in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. In Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, you can adjust the difficulty, round timer, and game speed for different experiences.

Note that these settings can also be applied to The Power Battle.

It's also possible to adjust the settings on Fightcade via test screen, using either the F2 key.

https://ibb.co/x7qQcTH This is how that looks on Fightcade.

https://ibb.co/MP2KLGN CA2S has a Game Settings menu before starting Power Fighters.

As it stands, the world record history for this game has been on Default settings, this is proven only by testing other difficulties:

1 Easy - Phase 2 Animation triggers in the 4th round. AI pattern less aggressive.

2 Default - Phase 2 Animation Triggers in Round 3. The standard difficulty everyone has been running. Looking at past runs you can check for this.

3 Hard - Phase 2 Animation Trigger in Round 2. Only tested this a little, fights get harder to manage with more attacks and lots more jumping.

4 Very Hard - Phase 2 Animation Trigger in Round 1

I've asked the Mega Man Leaderboard about splitting up the categories for each mode. It's common for an Arcade game to have split sections.

On the other hand, everyone before CA2S was released ran on default, or were unaware the difficulty could be changed.

Should we split the categories? Or keep things default? Either way, it's going to be more important to show settings to keep things verifiable.

Looks like my old post talked about the difficulty changes already, will we be looking at these again for Easy, Default, Hard, and Hardest? I'd rather we just keep it on default.

There's actually a bit of routing involved in Buster Only, and really the most a buster can do is 6 damage, fully charged. You'd have to decide the best Robot Masters to take down first.

Wood Man in 1-2

Magnet Man and Plant Man in 3-6

Turbo Man, Junk Man, Shade Man and Slash Man in 7.

These are the most i-frame or movement heavy and it's best to knock em out early for Buster Only.

Do you have a video of the challenge?

This is a super hot run! Sub 4 might even be possible!!

That’s what I’m talking about!

Nice job comparing the footage, this keeps the emus as an available option, looks identical in speed.

One thing I noticed with difficulty set to 1 (lowest) the Phase 2 (glowing animation) is skipped for the first 3 fights, something that would save a couple seconds over the default settings, nothing major but something to look out for in future top runs.

Hello!

I’ve played this game a ton and really just happened to look up this game today on SRC!

I’m interested in doing a New Game (Casual) run on a separate profile from my main file, purely in the curiosity of how messed up my Gunpla is going to look by the end of the Story. I’ll be doing some testing and seeing what the first hour of gameplay is going to be like, since Merging comes a little after the first few missions iirc.

Best regards

Right away there's some changes, not only the English version feels a bit faster overall, the JP version comes included, so we can run Rockman 2 Power Fighters, I'm going to have to do more testing, but there were times I think Eddie did not show up as much, which could make the game a tiny bit faster. Language choice is usually a small optimization.

Another thing is the difficulty settings, the default is 2. It scales from 1-4, and at 4 I noticed some changes right away. The first robot master gets the "Phase 2" Glowing animation, Plant Man might be able to use Plant Barrier if you let him. Difficulty modes could be a challenge mode or separate category because overall they'd be slower than default settings. That animation takes a couple seconds each time.

Still more to discover, as Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is on PC, PS4/5 Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One/X

I am going to run on the new version of the game, see if it can keep up with emu, and we will probably need more consoles when submitting runs! Super hyped!!

New ports of Power Battles and Power Fighters are on the horizon! Who's excited for the new releases on modern Console?

I'm so happy to see these arcade classics (along with the rest of the games) coming to Steam!

This was never meant as a personal attack just because my runs are eight days old, just observations looking at all runs that have been posted and verified late.

I was citing the verification part of the moderation rules:

Verification It is generally left to the moderators to determine a necessary level of scrutiny for a run. For the top time in a category, it is generally expected that the entire run be watched. For times that are not particularly notable, reviewing small portions of the video may be sufficient.

Prioritizing faster times lets you verify slower ones quicker, it's workflow to verify in batches rather than one at a time, and that would be in the best interests of any community, not just this one. A category this short could have several runs approved in a single day. This is not asking to be moved up in the verification queue.

3 Month Hiatus, I found similar issues that go back years before this current hiatus. If you've had to personally apologize each time these runners wait longer than the rules allow, it would have been best to add extra moderators long ago to avoid this.

We did converse privately about additional mods, but it should be public if enough people feel things aren't being handled in the best interests of the leaderboard.

I think it's a great idea to have a runners from different countries (and timezones) so there is good coverage where 24/7 someone is online!

While I have only recently discovered this leaderboard, I'm seeing some issues that may be affecting all runners of this game.

Some runs are taking longer than the provided 21 days. I have learned that the current Moderator recently returned (March 2022) from a 3 month hiatus, but this trend goes back to 2020. There seems to be a history of gaps of inactivity.

Solo Search for Wily by Dumple was submitted on 7-17-20 and verified 9-29-20, 74 days later.

Solo All Stories by WhoDis was submitted 01-28-21 and verified 02-26-21, 29 days later.

Co-op All Stories by ZEUS1786 and HIKARU was submitted 12-18-2021 and verified on 3-13-2022 (Hiatus)

Co-Op Rescue Roll by jacobdoesathing and thesportsrunner was submitted 02-08-22 and verified 03-14-22. 34 days after being submitted.

I understand and support IRL coming first, and don't want to criminalize these gaps, this game is very niche compared to new titles and classics alike you'd think you'd be okay taking a break now and then.

Guidelines for Speedrun.com state games should have at least 3 Moderators. This would cover any gaps a solo Mod would have. It's recommended that a Mod runs the game as well.

Currently there are only 3 ways to become a Moderator on Speedrun.com: requesting the game to be added, having the current Super Moderator appoint you, or reporting an inactive Moderator to Speedrun.com staff

I reached out to the Mod to offer assistance, being a new runner and with pending times claiming to be 1st place. He responded saying he doesn't need any help.

Another part of the Moderator guidelines is to prioritize runs claiming to be 1st place, making sure that the runs are legitimate, while less optimal times can have small portions reviewed before approving them. I currently have a time faster than one of the categories recently approved, which means chicadead26 has been approving runs not by fastest times first, but in the order in which they are received.

That makes their job harder as they must be verifying runs one at a time, at a pace that feels like one run a week, for runs that are under 10 minutes in length. If that's all they have time for, that's fine, but another reason why an additional Moderator would be a great help.

As of right now, there's nothing any of the runners can do, I've tried requesting Mod status to help out already. Chicdead26 isn't inactive, there's no reason to report them. Instead I would like to offer help in the event there may be another time where the current Moderator might need to step away for a while.

Also, it doesn't have to be me, any additional moderators would be a great help. Anyone willing to follow the guidelines from the Speedrun.com Knowledge Base.

Thank you.
