Game Settings: Rules Discussion and Categories

Hello, this is a brand new fresh thread to talk about adjusting difficulty in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. In Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, you can adjust the difficulty, round timer, and game speed for different experiences.

Note that these settings can also be applied to The Power Battle.

It's also possible to adjust the settings on Fightcade via test screen, using either the F2 key.

https://ibb.co/x7qQcTH This is how that looks on Fightcade.

https://ibb.co/MP2KLGN CA2S has a Game Settings menu before starting Power Fighters.

As it stands, the world record history for this game has been on Default settings, this is proven only by testing other difficulties:

1 Easy - Phase 2 Animation triggers in the 4th round. AI pattern less aggressive.

2 Default - Phase 2 Animation Triggers in Round 3. The standard difficulty everyone has been running. Looking at past runs you can check for this.

3 Hard - Phase 2 Animation Trigger in Round 2. Only tested this a little, fights get harder to manage with more attacks and lots more jumping.

4 Very Hard - Phase 2 Animation Trigger in Round 1

I've asked the Mega Man Leaderboard about splitting up the categories for each mode. It's common for an Arcade game to have split sections.

On the other hand, everyone before CA2S was released ran on default, or were unaware the difficulty could be changed.

Should we split the categories? Or keep things default? Either way, it's going to be more important to show settings to keep things verifiable.

I currently only run Power Battle, but in my opinion having default be the main category makes the most sense, at least until there's enough interest in the other difficulties to warrant splitting them up.

Showing settings/dip switches should be required for basically any arcade games IMO.
