they meet again, the depravity of the chess community and speedrun community. Don't mix bobby into this....
As soon as I join ring 1 my ping starts rising in increments very quickly until it plateaus at a very high number(10000+ in some cases.) Is there an explanation for this?
it's been a hot minute hasnt it
bumping this thread in hopes of getting new mods.
i can confirm this is not a glitch. the game did not intend for you to go through there but they allowed it by making the blue pole not collideable, meaning that you can go inside of the block without having to manipulate it in any way.
and the fact that you say it's "easily" possible.. please tell US
I need to hear about this method, the category of glitchless is getting optimized way too much to be leaving out strats like this
title says it all.
reasons i think it IS possible:
I'll go over all of the time saves and subtract it from my 1:12 time. current time is 1:12.767
A perfect start could take off maybe .200 from the total time. Optimizing both shelf climbs and finding the best places to jump on the puddle of water could save this much time.
Current time is 1:12.567
Ball pit skip(the latter climb thing around 35 seconds into the run) could be perfected. In my 1:12 I could have done a much better climb and maybe saved around .200-.250 at best.
time now is 1:12.317
Now time for the biggest time save. The blind blue lazer jumps at the end could save anywhere from .200 to a whole second if done on 3-4 lazers. This is super difficult to do fast but it has the potential to take off the 300 milliseconds we need to get the 1:11.
best final time: 1:11.317
Let me know your thoughts on how time could be saved and if you agree with me.
good job finding this epic skip. i hope to god this is banned though(unless a strat is found that would make doing it easier/less luck based) because resetting over and over after making it through the RNG sections would make running this game really un-enjoyable.
Sup luso, I quit speedrunning all together about a month ago but I'm back. I have no idea what happened here but it's quite an interesting occurrence.
you just have to practice latter flicking. if you want to know how to do it search it up on youtube.
probably because you still had the key equipped.
1:57.4xx is probably the best someone will ever get. if we say it takes a second to get the speed pad, the segmented Wr run of 1:52.55 would be 1:57.55 if we factor in the time it takes to get to the speed pad.
I don't personally attempt both gym runs but from your thread it seems like it would be a real pain to do lol. Snocub could have some use when it comes to getting routes done quicker, but I think Eaglit should definitely be incorporated into both gym runs.
So I wanted to make this thread to get people's opinions on strats and see who uses what, and I want to make this for future reference.
So first, we need to see and compare what saves time and what is easier to do in a run.
Logically you would think that skipping as many trainers as you can would be ideal but in Loomian, in order to defeat the battle theater without dying you must have a minimum of 6 potions(from personal experience, I cannot go any lower than 6).
In theory, we could save as much time as possible by going to the laboratory and opening the crate that gives us 5 potions, and hope for good rng and a perfect duskit fight.
By using this information, the ideal run would go like this:
Get snocub, get the 5 potions from the lab, complete route 1 by battling 2/3 trainers(saves about a minute by skipping the guy in the middle), go through gale forest by battling 2/3 trainers and getting a super lucky Duskit fight, skip the school cut-scene by glitching before the duskit fight(2 minute save), skip the trainer right before entering route 3, beat 2/3 trainers on route 3, go to silvent, get 7 total potions, beat the battle theater with good luck.
If this "ideal" run is ever achieved the WR could possibly go as far down as sub 30 minutes.
Making this thread was fun, hopefully this information was useful to you. We will see what the future awaits for this category.
