United StatesMaybe I misread the thread, but the initial discussion was about assuming runs were too good with the only evidence being the runner was new to the community. That sounds an awful lot like assuming new runners are cheaters.
Assuming new runners are cheaters discourages them from joining the community. The amount of time someone has spent around a community speedrunning a specific game doesn't make them less likely to cheat. It's not unfair to treat each run equally no matter the source, in fact it's the most fair thing to do.
The moderators will retime your run even if you're auto-splitting on the correct frames. If there's a difference, your listed time will reflect that.
If the game has an in-game timer, maybe a screen shot of the final time could be allowed for a leaderboard here with a rule not to post images of explicit content.
The forum of each game can be used to discuss specific runs if there's anything pertinent.
Or don't bother creating different categories for glitches/glitchless until there's a need for it.
It's best to ask on the boards related to the game, or on their discord. Looks like Master Quest release has its own board as well.
It depends on what your goals are for your channel in the end. What kind of content are building towards?

There's little prestige to having a world record when there's no competition, and only a little more to holding a world record. If prestige is what you're after then speedrun something with a community to measure your run against.
The title alone is fine, and I'd encourage anyone interested in breaking ground on a game without an established run to go for it. A community has to start somewhere. Having a run in place as a baseline for what's possible may act as a catalyst for getting others to attempt the run as well. I made a game page for a game I had plans for running, but I only got as far as posting maps for it as a guide. Then four runners came along and did some actual runs. Even all you're doing is making a small proof of concept, it's a good first step to getting a run completed, even if you're not the one to get world record.

The model 2 and 3 Genesis have A/V out over RCA. If you're stuck with a model 1, then get an RF to RCA converter.

I'd like the ability to submit additional information on game pages for the moderators to later accept. This includes date corrections, platforms, websites for PC/web games, genre additions, etc. I'd rather not be a moderator for these games, and while I could send a message to the current moderator asking them to add said info, it'd be easier if there was a form to submit through that could be later approved or denied with the click of a button.
Also, to add on to what MD_Pi mentioned, there's similar problem with platform, especially Game Boy games, although not quite as bad. Moderators will list the platform as GB, GBC, SGB, SGB2, GBP, GBA, GBI, and any combination or omission that happens to come to mind at the time of creating the game page. This makes searching for games by platform difficult as GBC and GBA games show up in GB. In the same vein, while it's true all PS1 games can be played on a PS2, I don't want to see PS1 games when I search for PS2 games. I'd like to see platforms separated into "released on" and "playable on" with maybe some auto-fill rules (e.g. all GB are playable on SGB/SGB2/GBP/GBI, and all PS1 are playable on PS2).
A 55 hour speedrun sounds ambitious. Hopefully you can bring that time down quickly.
You could use such a tool to aggregate data from various streams at once for games that have an easily identifiable HUD or environments. Like for Overwatch you could list all the streams that are currently playing a specific character/map/mode. For some games such a tool could give you an unfair advantage though if opponents are streaming as it could quickly gather information you shouldn't have and display it as a HUD over your game.

There shouldn't be a requirement to stream, but it depends on the moderators of individual games.
