So he broke the rules? He took it upon himself to not contact any mods for any complaints and simply break the rules. Again, this isn't fucking up?
No. Maybe it's fucking up as a person somehow (I don't know why) but it's certainly not fucking up as a moderator.
I said that people who had no interest in GTA V until this went down shouldn't be here. Those who don't view it,
I view GTA V runs (Toriks) and you asked why I was here.
Do you know Gyoo personally? How did you develop this trust?
No, unfortunately I don't know him personally. However, he is a full mod of the site. Why would he not want to see the site run as smoothly as possible?
When the leader of a community leaderboard is a known troll it affects how the game reflects.
Elaborate on this please.
Rye's first move was to violate that rule.
Ryedawg must have realized things were not moving along, so he went to Gyoo.
I didn't say all active viewers supported me.
Yes, but you did say that people that weren't active runners (they are viewers) but that supported ryedawg shouldn't be here. Then you see non active runners (that are viewers) that agree with you, and you like their posts.
he needs to be on his best behaviour for Gyoo.
Yes. He hasn't been on bad behavior, so why would he mess up now. If he does I trust Gyoo enough to know that he will take appropriate action.
Charlie I don't like your solution.
Give another neutral solution then, please.
Leave the board as is and wait for ryedawg to fuck up as mod.
He literally just took control of a leaderboard without telling anyone. So, yes?
No it hasn't. You've given him 2 days, and in that time he's already made a lot of what he's going to do/change. That's an excellent idea, and shows him to be a rather good mod.
You will note that the people who support me are either: Active viewers of GTA V,
I've spent a lot of time in Toriks' stream, considering I followed him in October of 2015. This isn't as long as a lot of other people, but does that not make me an active viewer?
..but the one who..started this mess...should keep his mod?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but ryedawg hasn't attacked other people in this thread. Unless you count attacking the community as a whole, which he didn't.
Until Ryedawg proves himself that he's a bad mod, none of your tantrums are going to change anything.
darkviper88 HAS THIS HAPPENED YET? No! You haven't given him any chances. All you've done is complain about how bad he supposedly WILL be. Who cares how much of a shitposter he is? Nothing you've said here has shown that ryedawg will be a bad mod in any sense. All it shows is him being a bad viewer/person/whatever.
If DV gets supermod, the first thing he'll do is remove Ryedawg from the mods.
Cheeselover, this is why your solution will not work.
I honestly believe that throughout this forum, DV started by arguing points why ryedawg shouldn't be mod. However, it seems to have devolved into attacks on who "is part of the game" which like Bosz said should be enforced for the people that support you as well. To be honest, I don't think that DV deserves mod back after this mess.
This is getting ridiculous.
I'll level with you DV. Yeah all I've done is do a couple bad ILs a year or so ago. I do watch Toriks stream his speedruns but whatever. I also don't like ryedawg as a person, so I'm not really "on his side". I'm trying to think of both sides. However, what I fail to see is what any of that has to do with me putting my input in on the situation.
It's kind of hard to make an accurate reading about old runs when I'm an outsider looking in. For that I apologize.
But what do you mean "if I'd know this game existed"?
I also don't think that Gyoo would try and "destroy the continued process of this game" because what???
I think the point was there being wrong times in the first place.
You do not need to be a genius to correct times, you do however need to be trustworthy
If you don't have to be a genius…why weren't the times corrected before…
Local guy can't keep the same opinion for long.
Before I may have expressed disdain for ryedawg to be moderater of the game. This was due to personal issues I have with him, which honestly have no place in speedrunning at all. Looking back, I do not think that any personal issues should factor into why or why not he is a moderator. While what M_tt has experienced certainly sucks and doesn't show a positive side of ryedawg as a person, I don't think it reflects his prowess as a mod, unless he were to start denying runs outright for no reason.
Hopefully this will be fixed but if Gyoo refuses, then I guess I just won't submit runs. Fine by me.
I also think that that is a pretty bad reason to stop running a game, unless ryedawg does something to actually bar you from submitting runs, or denies runs or something of the sort. But I don't think that ryedawg would do something that stupid.
Lmfao this is San Andreas. Joe you're gonna wanna go here http://www.speedrun.com/gtasa/forum
Don't speedrun a game that you've never played before. It won't do well for you. Definitely if you're thinking of DS 1 then play through it once or twice. And then slowly start learning the strats (like you said).
It's a website that allows you to race games with other speedrunners. How it works I'm not sure because I don't use it :(
I also believe Bosz' reasoning with Refunct and SMB 1 are not consistent here, because as CheeseLover said, it is a 6 hour run where most of the runs are not very close to one another (with the exception of a few). Refunct is a highly optimized game, as is SMB 1, and the times are incredibly close to each other. This coupled with the fact that many runs were far in the past (and were also fixed) shows that there wasn't much of an issue. Maybe there was in Discord. I don't know for sure :/
Dang my position on this changed a bit :D
- It doesn't seem like toriks gives a crap about whether he's mod or not, as evidenced by the clips DV provided. 1a. I do agree that Toriks is a trusted mod.
- I do agree that Ryedawg is a known troll, and I've had experience with him being that way (which doesn't belong on the forums anyways).
- Those are quite old runs, some that even Kyle verified. I don't think it matters too much whether the times are correct down to a second or so, yet I think that it should be enforced for consistency's sake.
- I also don't see any outcry from the runners/viewers about the (now former) mods doing a bad job. It could have happened in Discord though, so this point is probably moot. 4a. It seems any corrections were fixed by Havi in that thread. 4b. DV, you should've just fixed the times instead of calling the game you used to moderate a "meme".
While I don't agree that Ryedawg is the best person to moderate the leaderboards, I do think that a change was inevitably due. If incorrect times aren't being fixed by a moderator, then a change should be in order. However, I'd like to point out that the times brought up in this thread seem to have been fixed by Havi. (i could be wrong) http://www.speedrun.com/gtav/thread/v5qwo Regardless, the situation was brought up by Ryedawg, so obviously something needed to be fixed.

They're invading the main forums NotLikeThis
There's a few ways:
- If you submit a game and it gets accepted you automatically become mod of said game.
- Request mod AS A LAST RESORT here http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7
- Ask the forums of a game if they need mods.
