Thanks mods for finally getting this game onto speedrun.com! I worked toward this years ago when these games were released, but I couldn't get approval for whatever reason. Even though we haven't run either of these games in years, I'm really glad there's an official page to keep track of these runs.

We loved finding the initial routes and skips for these games; it was some of the best fun we've ever had playing Frictional-adjacent games, speedrunning games, hell, maybe even playing games in general. They may not be the most well-known mods, but they're very well made and great speed games.

So thanks again for getting this page set up, and if there's any way we can help get it into the best state it can be, let us know!

I'd like to request moderation permissions for this game. We are the primary routers of the game and since interest in the game has increased recently, we've gotten back into running the game and would like to add some new categories.

We've been playing the game on and off since it came out in 2006 and have personally timed and routed every single event in the game. We've beaten the developer times on virtually every course and tested just about every conceivable path for glitches/optimizations so we'd be a useful resource in verifying runs and making judgements on rules.

At the very least, I think there should be a 1999 mode leaderboard. Sure, it usually just means the enemies have more health, but that means different strats in certain locations. More ammo/salt preservation and more skill when encountering groups of enemies and bosses rather than just putting down a trap. What do you guys think?

We could potentially see up to 4 runnable categories for this game:

Any% Any% NG+ (start with all characters/boards, no unlocking cutscenes) All Gold Medals (could be called 100%, but technically doesn't include green and red jewels - which can be very difficult to attain) All Gold Medals NG+

We know that not too many people run this game, but each of these categories has something that makes it worthy of a spot here:

Any% is the hardest to route, but can be learned without needing to beat the whole game. All Gold Medals shows off everything that the game has to offer and is basically a 100% - a true testament of skill. NG+ is faster for both routes by several minutes because having max speed is roughly 25-30% faster than you have at 4 (Tony and Ammon's base speed at the beginning of the game). Therefore, Any% NG+ is the fastest possible route.

I suppose we don't necessarily need both of the 100% categories, but we're not sure which would be better to cut.
