Sorry for putting this on here, but there seems to be a bug in speedrun.com where you cannot put new threads on this game series, maybe others too, but this one specifically.

I would like to know if maybe one of the mods could put the X68000 version of Pac-Mania, seeing as there is the arcade, NES, and Genesis versions of it on the site.

The game is somewhat easy to get a hold of, which makes it possible for anyone to practice and you just need either an actual X68000 computer or an emulator of it, but the floppy image is on archive.org for anyone to download and boot from, as most the X68000 computer's games are self-booting which is what Pac-Mania is.

Maybe even put the X68000 version of Pac-Man as a separate game or category in the X68000 version of Pac-Mania because it is listed in the game files on the floppy image.

Ok, McKiddy. I won't do it again.

The non-drm'd PC version has such a hard time even displaying the models, especially Pac-Man, on my stock Dell Inspiron 3910.

Would the emulated PS2 category be used if someone ran the game using Open Playstation 2 Loader?

Hi there, Proenke.

If you are reading this post, maybe add a new subcategory to all categories called PS2 OPL, or maybe add its stuff to the PS2 emu subcategory. The reason for that is some other forum for a different game classifies OPL as an emulator despite being run on actual hardware, but it is understandable that it is considered as an emulator since you are not playing the game on the actual disc. Maybe something to consider.

Hey there.

Is OPL for PS2 considered an emulator or real hardware as you can play the game on a hard drive, thereby faster loading times but still on the console?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Thanks for answering, just want to keep the boards clean with runs that can be viewed without subscribing to the runners' Twitch channels or that have had the videos deleted from YouTube or Twitch.

The reason for the possible remaking of the boards is the fact that some runners have paid Twitch videos that are like a members only video for YouTube that you have to be a paying YouTube member or in this case, paying a subscription to the runner to be able to see their runs.

This is just a possibility to unpaywall the runs for some games where the players block their runs from the free viewers, specifically for the people that cannot support them financially, therefore through word of mouth the runner would have more viewers on their YouTube or Twitch, hence a bigger possibility that someone else would be willing to pay a subscription who wants to help them.

There is no video in this run. It should be noted that there is no video for it. It would have to be listed as video missing such as those runs that the runners do not want to be recognized, only wanting to be known as anonymous for their best run, just to have a record that others should try to match or even beat.

I think the system used for the runs should be changed to BBC Micro, as that is what the runner for the game specifies in the description.

Should the system be changed to BBC Micro instead of PC?

This run should be deleted because no one is going to pay to see his run on the site.

Run should be taken down because the video has been deleted.

United StatesWMLUser1 year ago

Should the run be taken down because the video is private?

Should this run be deleted because the video is private, only to be viewed by the runner themself?

Should this run be deleted because the video does not exist anymore?

Should this run be deleted because no one is able to view it other than the runner themselves?

United StatesWMLUser1 year ago

Should runs that have private videos be taken off from the speedrun website?

United StatesWMLUser1 year ago

Should the run be deleted because the account that made the video no longer exists and would be possibly invalid?

I understand the need for some Twitch runners paywalling their channels to only allow people to watch their videos after they subscribe to them. Isn't it too excessive for people who simply want to watch how they did in the run for free to have to pay them to watch it such as Pay-Per-View on satellite TV companies?
