"Also your post implies that women and black people can't have long lists of achievements in speedrunning." I don't think that post implies that, actually, I agree with NoobKillerRoof. You are highlighting people in a speedrunning site based on what gender they were born with / they are identified with and not because their speedrunning achievements. Personally, I believe we all should be treated equally and I don't think that highlighting a minority just because they are a minority is exactly egalitarian. Just as you highlighted Bobby Cruz and he happened to be black, I've got the feeling that these 4 people in the last spotlight should have been "4 speedrunners that happened to be women" and not "4 women that happened to speedrun games".
There are two possibilities of why I didn't use that:
-You watched an obsolete (and probably old) WR and I, personally, never did that level that way when I started speedrunning. The current Normal WR uses that strat. Segmented WR also uses it (and the optimized way) as WavyCommander already mentioned. -You watched Hard Mode or 100% WR, where I don't do that cause it is nearly impossible to do due to difficulty increase. In other words, it is not worth dying 10 or 20 times in order to kill them early.
I watched the first minute of your video a couple of times and I don't see a difference. My bad if I missed something.
I wouldn't mind adding a sub category for it since it can be a fun run but JY and proa have the final decision here. I will definitely try a run with that, so the category wouldn't be empty.
I don't really know what makes it faster, but when you play on PAL version you can notice how movement is smoother than NTSC version. Anyways, If I see a big time difference between PS2 and Emulator, I'll consider making two categories.
Probably I won't put any more categories. There aren't enough runners, so I think it is useless to make a new one.
I like the idea, that could be some really interesting shit. Actually, I have seen some blindfolded runs, but there is no category for it. Playing with one hand would be similar and it would be fun to watch imo.
