Well. Didn’t realize we had such a community now. Looks like it’s time to dust off the shovel. Let’s go.
While I don’t see this ever actually being attempted. There was that one guy who tried digimon world 3 %100 run. 500hr estimate. Pretty sure he didn’t make it. So some be insane.
If you welcome discussion over the categories, I would also like to set a run for TiP.
Straight away, I do not suggest maximum rank. It's lunacy xD
Nice! I'll message him on twitch and make sure he finds it!
Well at least for now, don't worry about my 66 Species run xD As cool as the name is, I realistically don't have that sort of time. Master%/Credits%/Any% however has a runner and several runs even! BranLan. Objective is to become a master gardener by hitting rank 31 and unlocking the credits from a new file.
Hi VALERock! It's no problem in the end so no worries. Welcome back to VP! Can we expect a Max Rank run soon? =p
Also, BranLan got around 2:01:something for Level 21 anyway so hopefully it's submitted to start filling up that board too.
So BranLan recently ran this category, not sure if he's going to submit it but the runs a cool idea. I don't know if any of you are planning out 108 but 10, 21 & 31 sound like more realistic speedrun goals.
My preference is on Master% as you unlock the master gardener title and Master% sounds cool and unique like Garden% already does. Plus you'll be the Master record holder. Win win.
So I'll be more specific with some questions.
Has anyone attempted routing this before? Would I be replacing everything from Infection in the early game anyway? I know weapon levels are a lot higher straight away in mutation but perhaps lower level weapons can allow data drains at higher levels? then you could play through until Trades. Not sure how it might work if you level up alot. Would the level up only save farming in the early game anyway since you need to be similar level to enemies to get cores. I'm currently running through Mutation and routing but can't try this out until the huge chore of leveling in infection has been done so any testing from anyone else would be great.
Even still, NG+ should save time in the early game over starting fresh even if you only start at 35-40.
My brother and I are interested in running Mutation. It was the first game we owned in the series and so it's always been our favorite. But before we devote our time to it we're wondering what experienced players think of a NG+ category for the game. Meaning ANYTHING you wish to do in the infection game before transferring is allowed including leveling, armors/weapons, charms, potions, cores, party members.
There's a drawback in that you can't level too much that you'll kill everything in the third server as you'll need new cores but maybe a low level weapon equip could fix this?
Anyway, I can see a lot of strategy going in to the game transfer and routing but I'm only a noob .Hack runner. Is this a good idea to try or is the transferring items gonna make it cheap compared to the RNG collecting in infection?
Im in Canberra. If you ever want to move this to multiple states I can organise a 100+ seating venue with 2 projector screens, multiple cameras setup as well as crew for free. Just not sure of the runner population down here.
Hey. I've been practicing this run lately and got a response in one of the other threads. He wasn't a mod here though so it's not completely official but Garden% is considered hitting 26 and getting a Dragonache to adulthood. Since yours is the first run actually posted anyway it's up to Scykoh whether Garden% becomes just hatching Dragonache or if your run is tragically denied.
As for Level 31 ending, I agree it's a better marker then hatching or smashing the dragonache cocoon and the credits being available is kind of the definition of an any% run. Like in Scykoh's runs he counts it to the speech pop-up. We can do that with Level 31 but with Dragonache we have to count it to when we press a to smash the cocoon.
Perhaps Viva Pinata's 196 Catagory could be changed to Level 31 Any% as a 196 run would not only be crazy intensive but horrible to moderate or contest against anyway. And then the catagories could be Level 10, Level 31 Any% and Dragon/Garden%
Thanks for getting back to me. Id like to run 60 species one day then but getting dragonache for the garden% sounds like a more reasonable goal to set. Thanks.
A few questions, wanting to give a proper go to speedrun this game
What is the end goal in garden%?
Could we have a 60 species category if that's not already garden%?
Are two people able to take shifts in completing a run or must it be the same one player throughout?
Thanks.
