I disabled loading screens. That is not a splice. Please check the options in-game before assuming I edited my recordings, thank you.

I love the concept, but I was wondering if there was any particular reason you only talk to Talkatoo one moon at a time, since he shuffles through three, could you not just get three, do three, repeat, as opposed to just one?

I love that the reason this topic was created was because of the opinion that not needing 5 runs was stupid. And now this category has 5 runs.

Whatever gave me difficulty in the run prior.

Death% is an interesting category, despite being a short run it has many avenues for tricks. The first of which being "Start Press". While not frame perfect, it can be very easy for rookie runners to slip and click Assist Mode by accident, causing an almost instant reset. It's also entirely possible runners may forget to start their timer, though admittedly this isn't an aspect of the game to exploit, rather just human error.

The second trick that comes into play is "Cutscene Skip", which can be executed by pressing "+" as soon as Bowser's handsome face appears on screen for the introductory cutscene. Runners must also be wary that a second input of "A" is required as a confirmation for pulling off this trick. "B" is a no-go, and an almost certain run-killer.

Next up we have the "Camera Manipulation", which sees runners having to focus the camera in the direction of Cappy to gain control of Mario, looking anywhere else disallows players from moving on to the next input of jumping with A or B, and is another reset. The jump itself may also be seen as tricky to some, especially veterans of the Jumpless category.

Finally, we have quite possibly the hardest trick in the run, the "buffered spin-pound" or as runners lovingly refer to, the "bump jump", which allows Mario to move from a stationary position into a max speed roll, allowing us to reach the cliff of Mario's untimely demise slightly faster.

Anyway, with all that fluff out of the way, here's my submission, a 00:00:40.38

I didn't realise something new was required in order for a meme run to be worthy on category extensions. Festival% introduces... what exactly? And as has already been said, 5 runs aren't a requirement anymore, so that point is moot. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This is a pretty good one. Could see myself doing this as a fun little side activity.

You need to tilt your right Joycon almost completely upside down, or your Pro Controller very left, a bit more than sideways. You'll know you've got it tilted enough when Mario leans to the left while driving on the scooter. Once you're doing that, just hit left on your movement analogue stick as you drive past the moon in the cage, there's no extra input, it's just timing and position.
