I submitted a speedrun in which was declined (which fair enough, not even upset.) for the PS4 edition of Yakuza 0. However, Yakuza games in the PS4 cut out the transitional scenes between each save. (Meaning when you switch chapters, it enters a blocked scene that cannot he recorded.) And the same happens with the entire ending of the game. They only way around those would be to make a crude phone set up and record hours on a phone (in my case five hours). At this point, the PS4 category feels impossible to do which now makes sense as to why no one has done it. So, what would I do to be able to record the run, given I don’t want to put five hours of video on my phone and have to wait for said video to upload?

I’m not for sure exactly the differences. However, on PS4 every time you complete a chapter and save it cuts out of the recording. So you’ll have to factor in all that time. Plus, the finale scenes are blocked by the native recording software. Thusly meaning you’ll need to have some sort of setup to capture the ending of the game. Personally I have a run out on PS4 awaiting verification, and the only way I was able to do so was by losing time and crudely recording the ending on my phone in a separate video. It’s honestly sucky that it functions that way, but that’s probably why you don’t see almost anyone in the PS4 category.

Alright thank you! I did a practice run earlier today. (I clocked in at a depressing 5:03:13 seconds.) What I found out about my console frustrates me. PS4 blocks the finale cutscenes from being recorded. So I had to lose time to set up a really shotty setup to film the rest with my phone.

Makes me worried that will count against me and make my run obsolete honestly. I want to do the run over again for a quicker time in the future, but that might make me hesitate.

I am fairly curious as I want to do an any% NG+ speed run on hard. Are you allowed to skip cutscenes? Or are they a requirement?
