Since there is some activity on Misc, I wanted to make a thread in the event you (active runners) or anybody wants to suggest any fun categories.

I guess this applies to suggestions of "Full Game" as well.

You start on a saved file which has already bought the teleportation device, then you speedrun the quotas with inverted teleportation (everybody who wants to enter the factory has to enter with inverted teleportation, at least the first time)

It'd be very fun to watch

I have beaten your record (yours is 56 mine is 51), it was unrecorded but here is a pic https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XMkR8EbBCRo1aHmC6R5sJ9zbGBdJ4As_/view?usp=sharing

I might upload a recorded run sooner or later, I've been awaiting this game to be a speedrun category for a couple of years now :)

All of you have submitted records to the IL (Level Runs, Events) which happened to be in images, or videos lacking a replay, or videos showing the "Record Log". Your runs were rejected previously because the Rules state that all submissions must show Video Proof (a full Replay or the Gameplay).

Remy and I have decided that everybody can submit records without video, since we understand lots of people do not play anymore, but holded runs they were proud of, so long you follow these few requirements:

  1. You have to show that you are using a real cartridge of the game, and not a Pirate Card, in 1 single unedited video (you show your record, then you extract the cartridge and show it).

  2. Emulator is not allowed. Pirate Cards are not allowed.

  3. Your submissions cannot claim first place with this method, to prevent Action Replay. All 1st Places must submit a typical video, following the standard procedure.

This will be allowed from now on, in the way it is descripted here.

  2. No se permiten emuladores, no se permiten Tarjetas Piratas.

I wanted to beat the record from the SonicCenter with Sonic, but I could only reach 1:53 (the record is a 1:47). I never recorded it, so to whoever would care:

I changed the routing: I jump with Sonic to skip the first spring, press X for a long time and when the first robot shows up on screen bounce from it and land on the rails. Then I go upwards and skip the jump (if you are fast enough, you won't receive the Sonic Boom item by jumping. So you have to fall down) and I bounce from the second robot landing on the dash. Landing there is a bit tricky, you have to fly accurately.

After the loopdeloop I Press X on the vault. I jump as I do on my submitted run for Act 2 with Shadow. But you cannot reach the zipline on Act 1, so you need to do it as intended. You can jump while you are running upwards on the slope to land sooner on the high striker (you can glitch).

I have considered jumping mid zipline but it wasn't faster. I play as usual until I reach the box. I noticed that Act 1 has a shorter section than Act 2, so charging your boost (as you do at the start of every level) isn't faster on Act 1. I just press double X and use the spring.

With Sonic it is faster to use the box to climb up and collect the Sonic Boom. Then you jump mid zipline. Here's the hardest section: you need to land in such a way that you will fall down through the holes without touching the spikes and land on top of the dash from the lowest section. Once you have landed you need to keep pressing forwards for a few frames, curl into a ball and enter the dash. Otherwise you will crash against the robot.

You essentially do it blindfolded since you never know where you are going, and you have to stop yourself in such a way that you won't fall on the spikes and you will go back a bit to fit through the hole. Then the lowest section isn't easy neither.

After that, you release from the zipline mid way and use the Sonic Boom. Skip the vault by jumping over it. If you use the Sonic Boom too soon, you won't have speed after landing, so beware. The speed has to last you until you press double X to skip the teddy bear. If you use the Sonic Boom too late, you can go through the teddy bear unharmed (I can't recall propperly though).

Then you go upwards, collect the free Sonic Boom and enter the 2nd loop de loop cutscene. Before finishing it, you need to jump and bounce from a flying robot to land on the other side of the section. If you were fast enough, you will land in time for a new Sonic Boom to be collected. Land a little behind this Sonic Boom and use the one you already have, so that you collect the new Sonic Boom as you are using the previous Sonic Boom.

Go downwards and jump to the upper section. Skip the vault and land on the platform where the robot is. Don't bounce from the robot, just kill it. Then run forwards for a while. You will jump from the lower section to the upper section, to land on the spring. Then do the ending, you can do as the WR Holder does or you can use the end zipline. You are too fast to collect the very last Sonic Boom (which is usually given to you on a zipline a bit behind the end zipline). Jumping on the box is too slow. So use the remaining Sonic Boom at the very last vault jump to skip the jump and go straight to the ending.

If you want to run against it, here's the sav file. Put it on a Pirate card and send it to your real card as a "Friend Ghost". That way you'll know if you are going faster or not before the checkpoints.

thread: Sonic Rivals

I saw that this game was kinda empty on the ILs. If you want to run Sonic, here you might find the claimed times that will give you something to struggle against

https://www.soniccenter.org/rankings/sonic_rivals/times

https://www.video-games-records.com/en/sonic-rivals-game-g383/best-time-group-g1468/index

I don't know if the Any% beats these times. But they seem worth a while either way. So I considered sharing them

Beijing DS and Vancouver DS online rankings were never recorded. These are the only 2 games which lack the WFC nowadays.

While we do know what were the number 1 records, they were clearly cheated and they cannot be trusted. that's why having a good look to the top 15 positions would give a clear insight on how good were the actual legitimate records of Beijing DS.

Anyone who has connected to the WFC should still be capable of viewing it. So long as you don't connect to the Wimmfi. Therefore, it would be appreciated if you happened to share the WFC if you still preserve your old Beijing card.

If you are curious about it, this is what we know about the records of this game: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1325QEmLXYibLpFNJ_3oEU6Dn7LDxnGhlnt1znyotYfg/edit?usp=sharing

Let it be noted, there is a runner named Super that is supposed to have achieved all of these records on Wimmfi, but it seems so flagrantly fake that we decided to not include them.

I tested the 6 hit thing on GBA emulator and it turns out that hitting this Boss with B takes more damage than just jumping on the head. From what I saw from the TAS, you don't receive damage from the Tutorial boss when you are ass-dancing, unless s(he) hits you with an attack. So it is viable to do in an irl run (you ass dance to the Bosses behind and press B)

It should apply to more bosses. I'm thinking of that Boss that can only be hit when your friends attack it at the same time.

I already made the first part (Tutorial), with a different strat for the boss.

It takes 2 less hits than normal, I selected the same options in the menu as you have in your run, so you can hit the Boss in less attempts. I think the attack technique takes more damage than jumping on their heads.

Allright thanks, and congrats on the new record!

Then I'm gonna TAS the GBA game, since I can't play it. I'm gonna use this thread to share the sections.

@Lemontarine What do you mean, isn't this CinemaLand for GBA, GBP, GBI and DS?

When I go to "Crayon Shin-Chan Series", this is the only CinemaLand game I can find

Hi I am a guy who made the Guide for Crayon Shin Chan "Flipa en Colores", I want to post any small optimiations that I find here.

  1. Tutorial:

@srrb12 Do you happen to know what was the username of the Deleted Username?

Hey @srrb12, how does that "rubbing" from Ski Cross Racing work? You cannot swipe up, otherwise your character will jump

A 2 second timesave is a huge deal

I won't trust ⭐Super⭐ until he records his World records in video or until he shows that he has played them in an original cartridge of the game, instead of a Pirate card

I think I get it. You just have to do like in seconds 38-40 (at the start of the hill, you can "dismount" the hill, on every hill), but you glitch to the side instead of landing back on track as intended (Glitch in 1:28). I don't know about this hill, but I've done it a few times on other hills and you can do it while you are decently far up the hill

Golden, the perfect theorical score is 330

Most of the events were TASed this last months, so we known the maximum scores for the majority of them ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MqPLErD0u-VKjMQ5TmSQnMyKuXvNk4xgf_c8h4-qjMY/edit?usp=drivesdk )
