We can't do Madame Broode skip anyway, it's impossible to fight her after skipping her
I'll try to do a No Dark Side run today. (But no promises, since the file takes a while to set up)
@zMienai We were discussing Dark Side earlier, and I said that there would be two subcategories; One with Dark Side and one without.
The best route I can think of for Dark Side: The save file prepared must have unlocked dark side, and has obtained the checkpoint Ever After Hill in Moon Kingdom. Start in moon kingdom, then warp to Ever After Hill. Enter moon cave and fight madame broode. After defeating her, warp to the odyssey as soon as you can open the map, then go to dark side and do the boss rush.
The best route I can think of for No Dark Side: The save file prepared must have obtained the checkpoint closest to Hariet and Topper in Bowser's Kingdom and the checkpoint closest to Rango in Lake Kingdom. You must have chosen wooded kingdom first, and must not have fought: Hariet and Topper in Bowser's Kingdom; Rango in Lake Kingdom, and Spewart in Luncheon Kingdom Start in Bowser's Kingdom, and warp to Hariet and Topper. Fight them, and continue through Bowser's kingdom and fight the broodal mech. Go to Moon Kingdom and do Moon Cave Skip, then enter moon cave and fight Madame Broode. After defeating her, warp to the odyssey as soon as you can open the map. Go to Lake Kingdom and warp to Rango. Fight him, then take the painting to luncheon kingdom and fight spewart.
btw @KilleDragon the names of the broodals:
"Rose": Hariet "Green": Topper "Yellow": Rango "Blue": Spewart
Please call them by their names to make it less confusing
@KilleDragon Timing starts when you press A to enter the prepared save file.
@Adamsmo134 Seems like you missed part of the conversation, we were talking about starting from a prepared save file instead of an empty one, to make the run more different from world peace.
I'm pretty sure Adamsmo134 intended for the run to start from an empty save file.
So, the run starts on an empty save file. Thanks for clarifying by implying it.
In that case, the run is basically a shorter world peace without knuckletoc. I think starting from any save file would make a much more original run.
Maybe there could be two subcategories: One where Dark Side is allowed, and one where it isn't.
Dark Side would be easier to set up, you just have to beat the game and unlock Dark Side.
No Dark Side would be a little more difficult to set up, but only a little. You just have to beat the game without getting peace in most of the kingdoms, and maybe do a specific order to make the paintings line up.
So, the route would be start in moon kingdom and warp to ever after hill, then enter moon cave and fight madame broode, then go to dark side and do the boss rush.
Oh wow so you can basically softlock yourself from getting 100% EDIT: I did broodon't and turns out when you go back to cascade kingdom after doing broodon't, the moons just appear in your inventory of whatever it's called.
The run only seems original enough when you start from a prepared save file.
So, what do you mean by "kill all broodals"? Does that mean you have to kill all the broodals from the start of the game, or do you mean get past the dark side boss rush? If it's the latter, there's a Dark Side IL on the normal leaderboard.
If not, this might be interesting. You said the timing starts when you start a save file. Does it have to be a new save file? The way you worded it made it seem like it doesn't.
If it doesn't have to be a new save file, then probably the best save file to start from would be a save file where broodon't was performed, and dark side has been unlocked. You would start in Cascade and fight Madame Broode, then go to dark side and do the boss rush.
If it does have to be a new save file, then the route would basically just be world peace except you don't fight knuckletoc and it ends when you kill spewart.
Time ends when the last song starts
I got farther into my normal playthrough, and I realized that encountering Munchlax gives you an icon, and so does unlocking Smeargle. So, it's not just all the legendary/mythical bosses.
@IwerSonsch I don't see a reason to take out the inverted pyramid moons; Including them would make the run more interesting (since you have to do pyramid clip)
I think the hardest part of the run would be doing pyramid clip to get the moons inside the inverted pyramid
