I haven't been too involved in the community for a bit so I don't remember too well, but this is the gist of it.
I'm pretty sure we only had a rule that didn't allow patches that came before a certain date, since those had enough differences in small mechanics (someone can lmk what those mechanics were bc I forget) that the times would be different. At some point, a 'pause-warp' glitch was discovered that saved around 30 seconds by doing some weird menuing stuff. After a bunch of deliberation, the devs decided to patch it and leave it up to the community whether we included it in the run or not. The src mods changed the version ruling to be the latest possible patch and created a 'old patch' category (I think this got moved to the cat extensions or just removed in general since it wasn't played much). I might have messed up some details but that's what I remember
If you've been in the discord recently, you'll now about pausewarping. It saves about 30 seconds. Are we allowing this in category extensions? It could work as a good test to see how it effects this category before we allow pausewarping in any%.
We could also have categories for all the minimum runs, like minimum jumps, dashes, and climbs

Not really, I'll change it to just any%. I made these categories a while ago before I knew what i was doing.
I believe it would be still allowed, as it would still have been derived from the original. I personally don't see any problems with it, and it would make recording a lot smoother and easier. It would be very helpful if you put the file into the resources.

hey so i know this game is F r I c K i N g dead but we should uh probably require videos for this game because there is no way to tell between a completed and non-completed run with a static photo. we'd kinda need to clear the whole fucking leaderboard but it is worth it.

It's just that I felt that it was unnecessary going through the opening. Plus, it's not like we're going by milliseconds. It may be a bit off, but it'll be fine.
