Honestly, I'm not sure if a full-game Furi Mode (with walking) would be that great of a thing because it's pretty much the same as the speedrun mode but with extra fluff. Furier Mode could certainly be a thing, but would also become obsolete if the devs decide to add it as an option in the speedrun mode.
On the main Discord (https://discord.gg/vMCNHaN) there's been a request for a true any% (story mode until you stay with Song) and for a low-hit (where hits > time, might be hard to implement here)
So right now I'm gonna try and do these first, working on layout etc. too now, hop on the Discord and we can chat about such such-such's
There's already a more populated Discord started by Theodrassil a few days ago, speedrun or general chat: https://discord.gg/vMCNHaN
Using tools or devices outside the game's usual parameters is a no-no - so things like the auto-aim given by the game are fine, but having some sort of aimbot or other device would not be allowed.
For other devices, think about it this way: for a non-procedurally-generated game, one could technically map all inputs to a single press of a button and complete it frame-perfectly (which would wind up as a TAS, I guess) which would be similarly barred, albeit on a larger scale than that proposed.
For a more comparable system, macros and macro-like functions such as those proposed are similarly barred, except for those games where these are built-in (I.E. the Smash Bros series with the GameCube controller - the c-stick is essentially a macro in input a direction and attack, but is built-in so it's fine).
Although it is for older console games, this is what SDA says on the matter: "Third-party controllers: You must only use features that are available on any controllers that were officially bundled with the system. Thus, turbo-fire is not allowed except for systems such as the TurboGrafx-16 that come with official turbo-fire controllers. Of course, if a game itself provides a turbo-fire option, then it may be used. " A turbo controller would have the same effect as the macro-like functions proposed and can be likened to my Smash Bros example, where the c-stick acts as the macro itself and thus is allowed.
tl;dr changing options and re-binding keys is fine, but no toggle, macro, multi-stroke shizzle
Just to clarify: are any Table Tech glitch runs to be reinstated or remain gone for being too powerful?
For the record, I agree that the rules need to be changed and clarified, at the least.
Wilarseny, about an 'archive leaderboard', do you know of a function or method which could do this easily without clogging anything up, such as completely starting a new page etc.?
If so, could you please explain?
When seeded mode is a thing, races'll be popular and draw a crowd, I think.
Time to rend down the table tech runs, then.
Goodnight, sweet 15:15 (ಥ‸ಥ)
To my knowledge, the timer does not reset. If so, the run would count... but it wouldn't be too fast. It would still be the same run.
Normally you can't reload Blasphemy; it just does a parry. Having the Cog causes it to have a reload-bar thing.
Green torches -> shrine in next room Purple torches -> vendor in next room
Flying items lets you cheat Winchester's games and get a quick black chest without having to aim etc.
If you scare away the Resourceful Rat (with bullets), you can explore up to one room's distance from the current one with the item inside. Good for ammo crates if you've only got one good gun.
Secret rooms can spawn in the room immediately after the boss room, so use a Blank there if you have one free.
Shotguns + pits let you kill enemies quickly, but you get no cash.
Alien Engine gives you awesome mobility if you run in the opposite direction to where you're firing it.
There are some incredibly strong synergies to be learned eg Muscle Relaxant + (crossbows and sniper rifles)
Rolling is one whole pixel (wow) faster than just running, so don't do it unless you know you won't hit a wall or something - it won't be worth it.
Use Angel shrines/Y.V. shrines whenever available. The Gun Godz want ca$h - pony up for the pop-pop, yo.
Hunter's Crossbow can one-shot Bullet Kin on floor 1 and 2.
Convict's Sawed-Off deals less DPS than the regular gun due to reload times. It's good when Raged, though. It one-shots Bullet Kin on floor 1 if all the bullets connect. Enraging Photo fully refills your clip, but not if you are currently reloading.
You can use the Robot's water bottle pretty much every other room. It reloads based on damage dealt, and has low requirements. The more damage you get out of using it, the faster it will become available again.
With Blasphemy, you can drop your health increasing items to become max hp again. This also applies for Angel shrine. With Blasphemy, swing and roll simultaneously to get a longer (faster) roll. [any character, not just Bullet] If you get Cog of Battle, you can 'reload' Blasphemy which gives you bonus attack speed for the floor.
So are we also barring the table tech glitch (for rage AND sight)?
And are we barring the weapon drop/quick reload (reference: https: //youtu.be/9fM6pK-3pbA?t=2m59s) or will these two be gotten to when the devs patch them out?
At one point I was holding on to 1.04 save files and .exe - come 1.05 I couldn't even run 1.04 thanks to Steam, so it's probably impossible to get quickswap back anyway. And good riddance to it!
So you mean to say I've been injuring my thumb for the last hour for nothing?
ROGUELITES, MAN, ALWAYS GET YA IN THE LEAST EXPECTED WAYS
But seriously, seeing it seems to be current patches only, I think that times using glitches which are removed should also be taken off, rendering Blasphemy a memory in far-off nightmares. And Perma-rage and Quick Reload when they inevitably patch them.
