I think if you're going to empty the boards empty all of them even if the run doesn't use the glitch just for fairness and consistency. As for using an old patch I would rather not have to illegally download the game just to run if it can be avoided

the new update changed the way sleeping worked so its no longer possible to sleep that fast, the whole earnings category is about to be removed anyway
well i was thinking someone find the perfect seed and put it in resources so that there is a category with as little RNG as possible
i proposed the idea of seed manipulation really early im glad to see it finally come to something, im happy with a seeded run but i feel like because of the outside impact from a program it should be separate from standard runs. maybe have a seeded category and inside that have like all bundles, mines or whatever the mods decide.
im planning on doing a 100% run too when my game works so there will be runs up for it eventually.
i feel like it could be quite daunting to look at due to length and there aren't many runs for it right now but in terms of how the game works i feel like the community centre is the 100% of this game. its not amazing for advertising the game to new people but i think 100% should go first.

after testing an idea i had i can say that in the adoption cutscene the cat is slightly faster, its such a small difference that it doesn't mater at all for any run but if anyone was curious the cat is faster.
i decided that a thread for useful run related information would be a good think to create that people to can contribute to over time.
i was testing today and I've discovered the movement speed decreases by approximately 20% when walking through crops, I'm not certain but i would assume long grass is the same, if someone could confirm this that would be great.
this is another one of the reasons i had the idea for cropless, i thought it would be a more complex alternative to the original category with multiple different strats.
that's fair, im just filling the time until i get my game fixed and can start running by coming up with dumb ideas for possible categories. Avoiding the complication by sticking to one version is probably for the best thinking about it.
is running on an old patch banned? if not it could be done on an old patch before the bouncer glitch was fixed
well you can glitch into the Casino and i wanted to fit it into a run which is why i brought this up, i understand it would still be pretty long but the qicrow isn't awful to get if you have good casino rng
has anyone else collected all of the rarecrows? i was thinking since its a very set objective it would make a decent category or maybe sub category?
i was thinking and mentioned to sloth the idea of a category where the entire run is done without planting a single crop, possibly 50k but that isn't set in stone what do people think of this?
not a bad idea, Elliot might be easier since most of the fishing things don't require farming for money and he is easy to get to, could start off with likes and them move to attempting lobster im not really sure yet
i think 40 and 120 are great marks for the mines category.
i think we are just going to find out the easy accessible items that are loved, who is the easiest to access marriageable NPC and work from there, compromises will probably have to me made for this category because getting both might be difficult
