@Ratslul Maybe you should stop talking about people you don't know and use fact. For exemple i'm a PS4 runner and i don't have personal interest to help PC runners If rules were defined with the community at the very beginning nobody should complain right now even if 120FPS is legitimate. So @XTerminator i m sorry but i m pretty sure coming and tell people to educate them self will not work at all, people should learn not rushing WR instead of having a nice leaderboard first ( and of course whine if theirs runs are not verified in 1 day to make pressure on moderators )

First i ll not answer about pause or game audio cause it's so obvious that it should not be discussed.
Then i ll say that the community isn't blind. When we knew that RE2 was coming out, we created a group to talk about rules and stuff to do something fair. Because we all knew that the game gonna be hype. I asked to be a part of this group but without be a moderator, just because i like the community ... But sadly this group is actually useless :D ... Yeah exactly discord group is useless cause they are actually talking on another one.
Sooner rules are clean, lesser we have issue. why have we locked submission during one week if it wasn't for that ? Btw i know that stuff are found everyday so someone can explain why we accepted those stuff without doing a vote on forums like i always said it should ? Now you are asking to wait and wait again, @WitchRain told everything "When will we start discussing the separation"
That's basics stuff for moderators, listen people because they rushed WR on day one was stupid.
@maxylobes about accusation i'm sorry, @Zecc and @Soulless_Persona did a great job. and @CursedToast is available ^^ Do you think @Darazanjoll & @StevenMayte leaved for nothing ? Think again
One more thing, it's not the first time we have this kind of issue in RE history and i m sad that it is same stuff in 2019.

I would like to talk about rules & moderation with you I m an old RE runner and always fight for fair and legit way to speedrun together.

120 FPS : Should be atleast 60 / Variable option cause it's ingame option + should be separate categories. If the community real want 120 (i m not), should be separate too

Resolution/Graphics : Changing it DURING the run should be not even a question. The run should be as clean as possible and options should be chosen BEFORE the run to not affect the game/display/etc. This rule should not even exist if 120 FPS rule were not there.

OOB : Should be named Major Glitch / No Major glitch and should also be a subcategory to have true any%. I don't like how OOB broke the game but we just cannot hide the fastest way to do the game

A part of current moderators are doing rules without ask to the real community + Some are really cocky during stream (vocal) or private chat. Yes i m clearly asking to clean moderators of this game and come back to basic StevenMayte/Darazanjoll/Soulless/Zecc to change everything.
I m sorry, i don't like drama but A LOT OF PEOPLE agree with what i m saying and ask to change everyday. So i ask to all RE runner to read this and change stuff RIGHT NOW ;)

I would like to talk about 3 points with all speedrun community and especially with RE one
Doing a new PB/WR is very cool for all of us and of course we wanna see our run in the leaderboard asap.
The game is very new and pretty hype so there's a lot of requests at the same time. Moderators are doing their best to check every run in their free time.
So please stay RESPECTFUL and PATIENT. doing a new thread some hours after submitting is useless
The game is very new and rules are changing every day. Find a FAIR leaderboard structure is something hard so please once again do your suggestion RESPECTFULLY and stop doing selfish proposals.
About PC version, using tools and stuff is for avoid cheating and help moderators to check runs. If you don't agree with it, nobody forbid you to speedrun the game on your side. To have a leaderboard, we need rules that's all.
Last but certainly the most important, moderators are not your friends, family, pets or anything. They are NOT PAID to do this. So talk to them with respect as you do in real life. Sometimes they can make mistakes, just alert them without drama and everything will be fine.

I ll share my experience about this. I use a ps4 controller, this one claim to be compatible for windows. That's kinda true for most recent game & app but not always
That's why i recommend to use DS4Tool : http://ds4windows.com/ This app will emulate you PS4 controller as a XBOX 360.
When it is installed and your controller is recognized, this is my method to have dpad work :
- Create a new profile named RE1
- Unbound all sticks buttons (LS /RS Up/Down/Left/Right)
- Bound dpad to axis ----> Up : Left Y-Axis - ----> Down : Left Y-Axis + ----> Left : Left X-Axis - ----> Right : Left X-Axis +
When it's done take care of run DS4 Tool as administrator + the right profile selected and it should be fine for dpad use After that you will be able to bound inputs directly in the game with config menu (F5)
If you still have trouble, there's an option to check in windows settings.
- Control Panel > Devices and printers
- if DS4tool recognized your controller, you will see "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" in devices
- Right click and select controllers settings
- Then you will see a controller list, click on the controller and click advanced
- Here check if "Controller (XBOX 360 for Windows)" in the drop down menu Basically those settings can be useful sometimes when windows/game force a type of input/controller on your game. I know i solved RE2 issue stick with this method for example.
I don't use an other app than that for RE1, it should work with DS4T only That's all folks SephJul

I m not from Castlevania community ( Resident Evil ) but i always wanted to work a little on Sotn Sadly i don't have Xbox console and i don't want to.
So yes splitted leaderboard seems like a good idea for those who doesn't want to buy a console only for that ;) We are not all aiming top leaderboard stuff on some specific game and i think it's often more convenient to run a a console we already have.
If we forget my case, it's always good to have splitted leaderboard to have newcomers on the game. Top players will be on top on each laderboard BTW so it's not an issue ;) More people we have, more knowledge is shared ^^ Atleast this is the way i always seen speedrun and that's the way i moderated Resident Evil 1 for the moment.
But as i said, i m not a castlevania runner for the moment ;) So i ll wait and see what is ur decision about that and maybe i ll try PS4 version if it's splitted ( cause way more convenient for me )

As many changes are made on leaderboard for the moment, i come here cause if have an idea.
What do you think about delete Doors Skip category. It's not a troll, i mean it's a simple suggestion and u can think i m wrong :)
Doors Skip seems not as much active than when it was implemented and i always thought that it was a game modification not from capcom.

Psxjin was chose in the past because it was the main emulator used on http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources.html The goal was to have the nearest experience compared to console.
Today Bizhawk is the main emulator on http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources.html but psxjin still accepted ;)
Plus, @Lillyella said it, there's is way less options to cheat and stuff. You can also show input more easily
About Bio2 rules in not moderator but on Bio1, we chose to accept only pxjin2.0.2 or bizhawk. At my POV psxjin is more like ps1 game played on a ps2 fast disk and bizhawk more like ps1.
Btw if everyone chose emulator they like, there's no way to compare runs in a legit way :) It's also for competition

So doing circle with dpad or analog make it WAY WAY easier to do :) All this time and i was not aware about that Kappa =D
