Hi! Thanks so much for setting up this board; I’ve dragged my feet in giving this game SRC attention for years now.

I just wanted to make sure that the timer is supposed to end on the moment the final opponent turns into an angel, like the rules say. This ends up being the case for the final time of your 1st Place run, but your Any% run is marked 3 seconds longer than the final angel. I think the final angel is a good end mark; it is clear and concise, and would work well across the full game categories AND the ILs. Even if the "glitch' happens where matches end early (while the final enemy is still reeling), I think the winning team celebration animation (the moment the music ends and the screen starts scrolling to the left) is still the most satisfying place to end the timing.

Another question - you specify that runs must be done on default Defense, Offense, Damage, Mobility, and Super Throw settings. Does that count for Difficulty as well? I've been doing all of my runs on default Difficulty so far.

Thanks again! And I have a LOT of runs to submit soon, including some ILs — hopefully it’s not overwhelming!

YEP, IT WAS THE ONLY BUTTON I HADN'T TRIED YET. D-Pad Down. SORRY. Thank you anyway! Hopefully this helps someone like me coming from the NES version, I guess. haha.

Hi all, I'm coming to this game from the NES version. I feel like I'm missing something really basic here, and apologies for that - for some reason, I cannot get a runner at 3rd base to steal toward home, no matter what I do. I'm trying to very clearly input Y + Dpad Left during the proper time, and everyone but the third base runner steals, every time. He just stays put.

Is there a special button combination you have to press? I made sure my left button was working fine. I also checked FAQs and the official manual, but couldn't find anything about this. nschnabel seems to be able to steal home with no issue. I'm probably missing something very obvious.

Thanks!

Hey all! I just wanted to confirm this, because I see that NESCardinality's 5-Game Season run involves him skipping games.

For the lesser-game seasons, are we permitted to use his strategy for the 165-Game Season, and manually play out all of the games with gratuitous beaning?

OH gosh, thank you so much! That absolutely clears it up; I was taking damage in my testing. I'll be way more careful about that now, and make sure to count my slides. Cheers!

Hey! I've been thinking about running this game for a while, and I'm starting to get serious about it. I plan to do my first attempt soon, and I just tried facing West Germany via password to practice.

When I did this, the West Germany players were able to knock me down with their tackles, instead of knocking themselves down. There's a mechanic I'm missing, right? Or does this strategy not work when the matchup is accessed via password? Also, is Arturo the only Argentine player who can do this strategy?

Thanks; very excited about seeing how well I can do! I grew up with this game and have the cartridge right here, but do not currently have a working NES or split capture card, so I may start on emulator.
