It'd be a good suggestion if Vroom in the Night Sky was a game that supported video capture. For such a niche game, I don't think video capture should be necessary. People can cheat sure, but if they're going to cheat for a WR on Vroom in the Night Sky of all things, they should look at their priorities.
From when myself and LiquidMikerrs did this, one of the mods didn't think Any% was a full game run for some reason, so put it as a level. It's a bit messy but it's not too bad. If you have any questions, by all means ask. I'd happily grind Any% again if somebody else is jumping on, it's a quick enough run lol
ToS6 is the big change with a floor being skipped in JP iirc. There's also a slight change to ToS5 in the floor design. Screenshotted from Indy's and Poke's runs, but you can see the difference on the map. Generally easier on JP. https://imgur.com/a/Tydsa
In-game time makes sense for those who don't have a capture card. An in-built timer also means there are no splitting issues.
100% is the best way to run Corpse Party imo. It gives depth to the run outside of optimal movement, making you decide when's best to save to avoid repetition. I use the rules below for the 3DS version that includes everything you've mentioned, though I haven't actually had a chance to do a run since uni stuff got in the way. Hopefully this helps though.
EDIT 1: As an additional note, the extra chapters are the thing that have me conflicted with this category. When should you play them? And assuming you start from a fresh save like you said, wouldn't you unlock extra chapters for beating Ch. 5? Just a few things to consider.
EDIT 2: Also, how would you regulate JP vs US regarding all name tags? Since you can't actually get every tag in US. Would US be banned, or would JP skip the unattainable tag? PSP version seems a little more annoying to plan than 3DS lol
Videos are a form of verification. If a mod watched Ben stream it, surely the run was verified there and then? Thus, no real need for a video. I get it can be annoying you can't see how it was done, but these things happen.
I'd prefer it if it's at all possible. If it's too difficult, brief notes on your route, along with splits would probably be enough for me. Just stuff to justify the time, especially if it's a really good and well thought out route.
Edit: As an extra note, I'd really recommend planning your own routes, even for the things I've already done (though that really isn't as much as I'd have liked lol). The game itself isn't a difficult run at all. Optimal movement basically. The real fun comes from planning each part out. Your call anyway mango, I hope you have fun!
Nice idea! Added the category to every chapter, as well as All Chapters.
Heck, if you check his WR Any% run, he has a very similar time to Forest Temple, and that's WITH getting additional rupees you'd skip in Forest Temple RTA. Poke is just really good at the game lol
I don't know the actual time saves for Japanese over English, but I know Japanese is quicker because you can skip a floor of the last ToS, and one of the puzzles is made a lot easier. Nobody's timed the Wii U VC as far as I know, but it probably loads faster lol.
Apologies for All Chapters being a little shady, but I think the three categories for it should cover everything. Though I've been absent here for a good few months, I've been planning to come back and continue working through the game, so if you need somebody to talk to about stuff, feel free to post here again o/
It'll be nice to have more times on the board lol
If you can just lose every board, the strategy would be to just play against a Master CPU and intentionally lose every minigame. Do you REALLY think that sounds fun? Anyway, the definition of Any% is to beat the game as fast as possible - would you class losing every board as beating the game? I really don't agree with this, but I'm just one voice. If it's unanimously agreed upon, I'll just roll with it.
I don't think there's a full list anywhere, so your options are between watching a run and taking notes, or looking at a full sprite list and routing it again yourself. Or I suppose one of the runners could share their notes. If you fancy the second option, I have a full list of sprites with requirements I'm using for 101 Sprite routing. Hopefully it's of some use ^^ https://pastebin.com/cUHSVrQv
Really you just want to be stood in the middle of the arena so it won't go there. Beyond that, I'm not sure.
Oh I was asking Illuminati lol. At the moment they're not, but I assumed that's because nobody's done an emu run so it's been a non-issue to this point. I'm not exactly bothered either way, just curious ^^
For my curiosity since emu is allowed, is Island Tour going to follow every other MP board and have emu runs hidden by default, or is it a non-issue for you?
I was gonna request this but ultimately forgot lol, so +1 on this o/ Not sure when I'd get around to doing a run but free flight feels like a lot more fun than mission mode.
