@Wolfram14 I agree, but the thing is convincing people of that.
Getting more leaderboard entries isn't easy, indeed. It really depends on whether the game is popular or not. If it's a niche game, you're going to have a hard time getting more people to play.
The problem is people don't come to the forums very often, and this is the Introductions Forum, so I don't know if it's the best place to post about it.
Just choose something you enjoy playing. That’s already halfway.
if the run follows the rules of the category it belongs, just submit the run and you will have it verified by the moderators of that game's leaderboard, and if there isn't anything wrong with the submission, your run will be added to the boards, no matter when it was created.
I strongly recommend that you read the rules for the category you are trying to speedrun before submitting your run; otherwise, it might be rejected.
From the rules of Elden Ring:
Timing
- Runs on PC must use LiveSplit with the autosplitter ("SoulSplitter") active and "Game Time" selected, with LiveSplit visible in the recording. The time LiveSplit shows (mIGT) when reaching the ending point of the respective category (consult the category specific rules for this) is your final time.
- Runs on console are timed using the ingame-time.
So if you're on console, you don't need time splits. Just use the ingame-time as the rules says.
@LucaUrbinelli You cannot cut clips and merge them later. You can only have one cut, with the cut being your full run (cut at the beginning and at the end). Otherwise, it’s not valid..
lol Really? That's funny :D
I think I will avoid naming WR and PB all together. It's like you've said: it's annoying changing the titles.
Anyway, thanks again for the help.
If I beat my own personal record, which also happens to be the current world record, what's the correct way to write it in the video title on YouTube? I wrote something like ''Game XYZ Speedrun [WR][PB]''. Is that wrong? Should I just write [WR] again, even if it's an improvement over the previous record?
English is not my first language, and I'm relatively new to speedrunning, so I honestly don't know.
