Buckshot Roulette is moving discord servers. Ive had a talk with Dax and the Owner of the If only you'd been faster... (IOYBF) discord server and any future discussion will happen over there. The current server has been around a while, and we understand theres alot of history in the game still attached to it, which is why we have decided to keep it open solely as an archive of any previous discussion. You may ask why, and ultimately it boils down to two reasons. The first being discoverability. The interest in Buckshot Roulette has decreased alot, which isnt a suprise to anybody, even though I see those of you who are still running the game and I still encourage it. IOYBF is a hub for speedrunning games with smaller communites, and new games are being added often bringing new eyes to the server, and other games within it. There is also another reason why we think its a good idea to move buckshot Roulette to IOYBF. Every other Mike Klubnika game that has a speedrunning page, has its home at IOYBF. I think its a good idea for all of the Mike Klubnika games to share one discord server, as it allows fans of one game to easily discover, run, and find information on other games he has released. Personally, ive put a ton of hours into unsorted horror, but overall im a moderator on 6 of his games. The website will we updated shortly with the new link, and I hope you all join the IOYBF discord, where all future Buckshot Roulette discussion will happen. We welcome you with open arms, and even if you arent interested in keeping up with Buckshot Roulette you may find a different game on there which piques your interest! https://discord.com/invite/KeuAPnQ
We have also changed the strict 720p30 fps rule. We still expect a level of watchability, but its alot less strict now allowing more runs from runers with weaker PC's. Ive also personally gone back and re-reviewed all of the previously rejected runs that follow the current rules. However, there are alot of runs that have the video deleted from youtube since its submission, and therefore im not able to review it. If you have any run that may have been rejected for Quality/Framerate, Not showing the main menu at the beginning of the run, using OpenGL3, or any other reason that you believe doesnt fit within the current rules, I highly encourage you to reupload and resubmit. Even if you just have an old run you never bothered to submit, now is the best time to do it! You will likely forget after this message. We want a fuller picture of the board history, and id hate to leave off even one run that could be on the board, but never got the chance to be.
Thank you all for the great memories and awesome discussion, i'll see you all on IOYBF!
Hey! I was the one that banned you from the server! You could've nicely dm'd me but if you'd like to do this here, that's okay too! So if you read the first rule of the discord server it says "Be Respectful." Your conduct did not reflect that of what we expect of members of the discord server. Your ability to submit runs will not be affected
Sorry, are you just referring to using a controller? Controllers are allowed, but they are typically slower
Any% has been renamed to "Any% NMG" and Any% All Glitches has been renamed to "Any%". I hope this better accurately reflects what you would expect the category rules to be based on the name, and helps clear up some confusion for new runners as to which category to submit their runs to.
merged some more. after the previous merged I realized the only real difference was double or nothing. Version subcategories are still there for any% all glitches as well as Double or nothing
The version categories have been merged and now indicate pre and post steam release. 1.0 and 1.1 are exactly the same gameplay-wise except the addition of double or nothing. 1.2 and 1.2.1's singular minor difference is not enough to warrant a distinction in category. This clears up a lot of the empty categories resulting from DoN not being in 1.0, and hopefully helps holding a WR in a category more prestigious. Please let us know any feedback!
Will there be Individual level leaderboards for this game? IMO it makes sense with a level select and id be interested in running it
IMO Inverted shouldnt be a subcategory as it doesn't really change anything gameplay-wise its more of an accessibility feature as some people prefer to play games this way. Also will there be a separate category for the "Good Night's Sleep" Ending or not because its too similar to "Slept safely, but at what cost?"
Hey! Using external software to modify the game is not allowed. You can however hold "R" to reset your runs quicker, and go to the main menu after the run. I'm not sure why you would specifically need to press escape for any reason to reset a run or start a recording. I usually use alt tab if I go over to obs for any reason. Sorry if I don't understand your question
That's basically just having notes, of course man you're all good here. I use Google sheets and notes for another game I run.
Im not too sure what you mean, do you mean to ask if playing on colorblind mode is allowed? If that's what you're asking then colorblind mode is absolutely allowed
For all my fellow Americans "12/05/2024" is referring to the 12th of May, 2024

Hey Everyone! The rules have been changed a bit to be made more clear. All past runs will not be affected by current rules, but please always check the rules for the game and category before posting your run. Please message me through the message system on speedruncom or discord with any questions.
v1.2.2 came out today, and it didn't include any core gameplay changes. To prevent clutter of the leaderboard, the current "1.2.1" subcategory will become "1.2.1+". This will include 1.2.1 and 1.2.2, as well as any future update in succession that does not include any core gameplay changes. The next important update that comes out will have a separate category.
heads up time ends as screen fades to black after opening suitcase
This is above all a speedrunning sites. In our opinion a high-score leaderboard is not what we envision for our speedrunning page. It's not that it wouldn't be competitive, or we don't want to watch long runs, that's just not what this page is about.
