What's up, sunkers?
We've recently made some slight modifications to the categories which we hope will make distinguishing each one less confusing, as well as promoting visibility:
-
Categories ''Part 1'', ''Part 2'' and ''Part 3'' are no longer considered Miscellaneous categories and are, instead, main ones. This is for a handful of reasons - particularly, it seems odd that the only non-miscellaneous category would be the one that requires you to open what are technically 3 different games. Additionally, Part 1 has always been the game's most popular and competitive category, and to leave it as Miscellaneous makes people think that the bulk of the activity lies in Any%, which isn't the case... besides, if they are technically 3 different games, the name ''Any%'' doesn't make much sense, right? Well, that's where our other category change comes in!
-
Category ''Any%'' has been renamed to the more apt ''All Parts'', which makes way more sense.
We've also implemented a rule change to All Parts:
- You are now allowed to have all 3 Parts open at once, as long as you do not perform any inputs on the other Part's windows, with the exception of pre-typing the password, since we can't really stop you from doing that anyway. This change is partly for convenience but mostly because it reduces the gap between players with worse hardware - having the games already open removes the time save top runs could have from simply booting the game faster due to hardware differences. This should hopefully encourage a more fair playing ground for high-end and low-end users alike and allow people with poor computers to still play at a high level. Just so we're clear, pre-typing the password for each other part is allowed, but confirming the password and waiting at the game's title screen is not. You may only close the password input after the final split of the Part before it.
And that's about it! Thanks for reading and happy sunking.
Due to unnecessary clutter and a harder verification process, we have decided to change how milliseconds will be applied in runs. Instead of removing them altogether, we will be leaving milliseconds for only highly competitive times. Currently, we are leaving milliseconds on for every run under 4 minutes in the Part 1 leaderboard. The other 2 categories don't have enough runs to make a good enough estimate of the cutoff, but in case we ever get to a point where there are more, the millisecond application is subject to change.
We've decided to file Part 1, 2, and 3 under the Miscellaneous categories, and added a brand new Any% category, which has you complete all 3 games in order.
No records have been altered.

The mod team has recently decided to make Sunky 1, 2 and 3 part of the same game. The new URL is speedrun.com/sunky_the_game and all current runs have been filed under Part 1 (old any%.)
