Yes emu is allowed but the leaderboard by default does not show emulator runs due to inaccuracy

It's only like 7 seconds or something you're gonna lose playing on English, I wouldn't commit to buying another cart unless you know you wanna grind it

Korean cart is hard to obtain, I had to use KoreanBuddy to get it through a Korean website and it set me back $60. It has fastest text scrolling in some games and has some oddities for 100% that make it faster.

Japanese cart is the only one with zipping but the trick isn't viable for RTA, and for some reason power switching on MWW doesn't have as long of a buffer as it does on Korean

I would buy Japanese cartridge since it is cheap on eBay

Running on dolphin is sketchy due to inaccuracies and load times. But Classic Titles is on the Multiple Kirby Games board.

I would say my best recommendation is to first start running this category, then propose your runs for a leaderboard spot - if anything, this could give birth to a Category Extension leaderboard.

There have been one too many times where people have asked for a new category leaderboard, just for no runs to show up for it. Best way to ask for a new board is to get runs for it. Up to 5 runs would be optimal. It gives tangible proof that people are actually invested in the new category and to warrant a board spot.

You don't need a leaderboard to speedrun, I've done countless speedruns that don't have a board. But having multiple runs of the same category could be a great motivation to make a board.

Would recommend the discord for advice on game specific stuff (you'll get answers quicker there)

https://discord.gg/cDAbKbsvUm

For speedrunning all you really need is a way to record your gameplay (camera is fine) and a timer if you'd like to track your times. There's plenty of Livesplit tutorials on the internet (Livesplit is a good speedrun timer for windows users, for Mac Google Livesplit One).

If you have anymore questions don't be afraid to ask in the discord cuz no one rly checks src forums

I'll probably play around with this at some point. Seems interesting, I never really bothered to watch the Japanese run, lol.

Considering the amount of people participating have only been getting larger I don't think we will be ending anytime soon

This^ it would theoretically only be useful for RTA runs (maybe saving like a second so it may not even be worth it) but even then, I just tested now and mashing B does not seem to do anything. Please send video proof if you are able to recreate the glitch again

New York City, NY, USANippo3 years ago

If you are able to replicate the glitch somehow, please send us a video (the switch has a built in capture feature!!) I will probably experiment with a TAS later but if it is frame perfect it may not be practical if the trick is possible on SNES

Instead of using this emulator it may be more accurate to install the KSS WAD which uses the Wii's native VC. I haven't extensively tested if this emulator is different or not as I have never used it but you are better off using native Wii VC to avoid inconsistencies.

I do know, however, that this emulator is allowed on PC. But Wii is debatable as I am not aware of how it performs.

@Daravae the current inactive mod is a super mod, the only active mod is a single mod that wants to make me a super mod. However, they do not have the ability to give me this position. I have spoken to Hagata, the current mod who is active, on Twitter and we have decided that I should be a super mod and they should stay as a regular mod due to me being fluent in English. I gave them the option to decide, and they said they would rather have the super mod be someone who speaks English. With their current status they cannot give me that position (they are a regular mod), which is why I asked here. If you would like proof of our conversation I can send you screenshots of them (Hagata told me to ask here if I could be given the position). If this still isn't the place to ask for assistance with this, I'll ask the forum of the game but I don't see a point as the super mod has not been on for more than a year and I cannot message them on Twitter as their dms are off and they will not follow me back. Thus I assumed that in order for me to be promoted as a super mod, I needed to ask here. Sorry if this (still) isn't the correct place, as this is the first time I have requested to cover a position like this.

I have discussed with Hagata through Twitter that, due to the current super mod being inactive for a long time, Hagata would want me to be super mod for the game. They wanted me to be super mod due to my fluency in English. If anyone needs proof I could send screenshots of our conversation to anyone who is in charge of dealing with moderator positions. If it's not possible to make me a super mod/mod for the game, just let me know, but the current one isn't active on any other social medias so I have no way to reach them.

Edit, the game I am talking about is Super Scribblenauts

Japanese has faster text scrolling. It doesn't save much but it adds up in RoMK and the battle windows fights. Not sure if there is anything else but I know this is the main reason.

Thank you for verifying the run! And also I apologize for assuming that one wouldn't understand English because of that. I should have contacted them via Twitter first and I jumped here too fast.

Hi, I'm requesting if I could become a mod for Super Scribblenauts? https://www.speedrun.com/superscribblenauts The current English super mod hasn't been active in over a year and the other mod is Japanese so I expect a language barrier between us. The Japanese runner hasn't been active for a month. I submitted a run about a week and a half ago and I haven't been verified yet. I would also like to organize the board more clearly because for Any%, there are two different categories for English and Japanese, but 100% only has one category, merging both the English and Japanese 100% runs which seems confusing to me. Thanks to any help if I could become a mod/super mod for the game, or just having my run verified would be fine by me as well.

Doesn't seem like a trick that would be worth it. Not only do you have to mix for wing but in general it looks difficult and saves around 20 seconds. It does seem interesting though so I might try it out later (if it's even possible to do without TAS)
