@SuperAL1 I admire your optimism that chains can survive for too long around here.

I'm not about to tell anyone how to mod their boards (given I don't mod any boards myself), but not requiring verification usually leaves the boards open to troll submissions like these, which will most likely drive new runners away from the game.

I'm not saying you should stay online 24/7 to verify runs, but in my opinion even taking 3 weeks to verify runs would be better than leaving it open.

Not requiring verification is truly a decision in the interest of maintaining the integrity of the board Kappa

@fatkidproductions Someone else had a similar question on another thread here, and you can find some useful pointers on there.

The gist of it is that you'll need a third-party program to cap the game's FPS at 30 and another program to run it on windowed mode, but given I don't run it on PC myself I really don't know if there's any extra kinks to it. Good luck!

Of course, the segmented runs board should specifically define which segments it'd entail and where they'd begin and end. Creating a bazillion segments that are just "walk forward 40 meters" just to optimize every little inch of the game to max isn't really useful.

What I had more in mind was the idea that each split could be an entire level of the game, and as long as stuff from one level doesn't carry on to the next, a sum of best could very well work for a Segmented Run (given that in this scenario there's not much possibility for a garbled game state) and editing them together could work for the purpose of showing it off on the board, but I understand your point now. Sum of best usually leads to impossible states that don't really reflect on the theoretical best full game run possible.

@Timmiluvs "Splicing together all of the best segments" is usually referred to as a Segmented Speedrun and it could actually be a valid form of competition, as long as it has its own separate board. People can compare their segmented runs against each other without it really being cheating.

The real problem arises when people splice together their best segments and then try to pass it off as a full game run done in one go, when those two are obviously not comparable, and that indeed is seen as cheating. Segmented Speedruns and one-segment full game runs should never mix.

Please post this suggestion in the Super Mario Bros Category Extensions forum instead to get the proper attention of the game's mods.

From what I understood, it seemed like he removed the Splits component while editing the Layout, but I admit your case is just as likely.

 1. Right-click on the timer > "Edit Layout"
 2. Click on the plus sign at the left > List > "Splits"
 3. Press "OK"
 4. Right-click on the splits/timer > "Save Layout" (just so you don't lose it)
 5. Right-click on the splits/timer > "Edit Splits"
 6. Add segments to your heart's content
 7. Right-click on the splits/timer > "Save Splits" (just so you don't lose them)

I agree that maintaining two different layouts is a lot of work that normally wouldn't be worth the extra effort. When you take into account that the new layout is seemingly still a work in progress however, the argument to keep alive the previous layout while they sort out the kinks for the new one doesn't seem too far out there.
It would help if you actually listed what you are looking for in a game or what interests you otherwise people don't know how to respond to this and just gives you general game recommendations that they themselves like that you may not or is not on a leaderboard here because no one runs it yet. But here are some i recommend based off of my taste

Anima: Gate of Memories Anime: Gate of Memories the nameless Chronicles Rune Factory 4 Special Harvest Moon Light of Hope Story of Seasons: Friends of mineral town Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town Resident Evil 6 Resident Evil 0 Animal Crossing: New Horizons The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Troll and I (NOTE: pretty boring and bland game overall but if you have 56min to spare minimum might as well considering it came with a lot of switches) Shining Resonance Refrain (NOTE: a example of a game not yet on a leaderboard till someone requests and do a run of it) Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age Xenoblade Chronicles 2

These minus Breath of the wild i have played on the Switch and Breath of the wild i played on the Wii U and both of the Anima games are Souls like in nature so if you are not a fan of the souls series you might not like that as it is difficult even on easy and even if you fully upgrade everything. Also for the Series like Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon if there is no story mode the categories are usually split up into marriageable candidates including secret and special ones that usually require a lot just to marry so aside from the fact that unless you look up all bachelors and bachelorettes people don't really know those characters exist as their heart meter is usually hidden just like the people you can't marry
@HolyJesusTiTz the original poster was @Cortyez and he either deleted the post or it got deleted for reasons unknown to me. Cool recommendations though! :)
