one of the top speedrunners actually bothered to inspect the run for himself on behalf of people who should actually do it, and we are deeply sorry for that inconvenience and hope it won't happen again.
The video was most probably edited, either adding a start of a normal run continued with an accelerated beginning later, or by cutting a few frames at the start (and possibly somewhere else). The suspect was presented with evidence before me and apparently promptly deleted the video, presumably admitting to the accusations.
Under this information, it was necessary to remove the speedrun from the leaderboard either way. Thank you

in-game timer makes sense if there's a part of the game the player has no control over, like a loading screen but you have full control over when you go to the next level, sure it's always non-zero, but that's just the nature of speedrunning in general
I literally have no idea if one CAN make the timings better, with any additional program
there is no universal easy answer sadly, other than learn from the best times and train and you'll succeed someday
the times are already measured to every single frame using very specific starting and finishing points, combined with an outside program measuring them and shortcuts allowing to go a frame back and forth if needed, and also what is the exact framerate
that specific guide lists best possible times, but for any% it has 0.05, you know, from when that super stupid glitch was discovered, and it's still there for some reason, I don't even remember what was the original time
all non-obsolete runs have been retimed now
all non-obsolete runs have been retimed or rejected, besides the ones done on Twitch due to difficulties of retiming them
I have been given a role of a mod to retime all non-obsolete runs I just finished Any%, and due to possible disparities between the timer and actual time, I was forced to also delete runs without an existing video proof. Also videos that start after you enter the game.
We have yet to retime times done on Twitch since they're a lot more difficult.
I am still wondering whether it's actually faster, even though it seems to be
hi, as I see many of the times are based on what the timer says, this isn't a good way of measuring the speedrun, it's far better to base it on the frames, which with my tools can be done rather easily, some Tampermonkey program + knowledge of shortcuts "," and "." on youtube.
I am a mod in many short flash games so I know some deal about that retiming, if you are interested in making me a mod, be my guest, if not however, I can show you how to download and use this program to measure runs precisely. If you don't want neither, and base it on the timer anyway, that's fine too, but you must keep in mind it'll be imperfect
the lag I experience on my videos (not in game, nor is there a drop in fps on my OBS in that time) is insufferable, I already got 2:10, 2:07, 2:06, 2:05, and even 1:58 but all have a lag so long that you only hear the sound and the first frame of the game is probably somewhere in level 2, if not farther
fixed, I originally set it on "time esc." which reversed the order, it was because I thought people would use the timer going down to indicate their times. Now I changed it to normal
oh, yeah, mod can edit anything about the submittions the region division comes from my more... noobie beginnings with modding when I thought it was something relevant, it'll be promptly deleted
