Use the load remover built into livesplit, this will remove the loading that happens during cutscenes meaning it will be more fair for you, of course fps and a ssd makes a huge difference, thats common with any game :)
It happens if you hit the trigger for the first skip to the lab in a specific spot, meaning you jumped to far to the left when you jumped into the checkpoint, it gives you a bad checkpoint where the game doesnt know where you are, resulting in there being an invisible wall there. Its a pretty common mistake tbh.
I want to get as many peoples opinions on what the categories should be aswell as rules regarding timing, glitches and so on.
In my opinion i think there should only be 2 categories, Any% and Glitchless with the sub categories being New Game+ and New Game, the difficulty categories in my opinion make to much of a mess and are unnessecary when you can just have a difficulty variable to filter by, and i think the run should be timed with the load remover for PC, because its the most accurate and fair way to time the run between all runners.
As for what should be allowed in glitchless i feel like the aiming to gain speed and maintain stamina should not be classed as a glitch, its such a simple mechanic thats its hard to define when you can and cant aim, thats just silly, as for falling down ladders instead of climbing them i dont think that should be considered a glitch either, because if they devs wanted you to climb the ladder they would have added a barrier around the ladder so you couldnt drop down.
Whats your guys opinions? Whether you agree with what i have said or you have your own ideas post them below, i want to get as much feedback as possible! :)
Why would you not use the load remover, its the most fair way to time the run, timer doesnt reset upon loading a save, timer pauses during loads in cutscenes meaning if one person gets a slower load than the other they will still be able to skip the cutscene at the same time.
But it saves time? ALOT of time if you do it over the course of the run, you cant just decide not to allow something because it doesnt suit your playstyle? Thats not how it works at all.
There is no need to have overcomplicated leaderboards, to many categories = to much mess, its unnecessary to have categories for every difficulty, just keep it simple. You could get away with just Any% and Glitchless with new game and new game+ sub categories, but Trance seems set on running classic difficulty but i can understand why you would make seperate categories for classic mode, but for survival and nightmare? no, theres no need for them, either run it on the hardest difficulty or the easiest, theres no need for an inbetween, just makes ugly and messy leaderboards with categories that wont be ran and even if they were ran it would just be to get arbitrary World Records which are pointless.
