Honestly it's better to track it and then decide if enough differences wold warrent more divisions on version. Afaik it's just the versions with major changes that affect runs, which is completely reasonable thing to do especially when said games are going to be updated often.

thread: StarCraft

Version does matter for vanilla vs patched in original game due to various tricks and AI glitches on runs. As for remaster like most games of its kind running on different latest patches at the time of run always have minor or even greater differences when it comes to the same tricks and glitches.

@sadfaps Practice for Legacy LUL

Anyways onsite sign ups will be available to attendees. And I will have match sign ins with approximate times for players to get groups set up multiple times each day. Keep in mind each group max 5 will play a match at the selected times. There is no limit on the number of matches u can get in on but it is a semi first come basis. Key thing to this is trying to net your self the majority of wins by end of match 15.

There is a Routing guide being redone/written early parts were myself years ago, and dale is redoing most of it to update it and so we can restructure it for others to use for any of the category/runs.

Differences between console ps3 vs 360 is that xbox has faster loads. There is no difference between PAL and NTSC other then the games box art and default localization being different. The JPN ps3 exclusive version has some minor differences beyond the above mentioned that would apply to it.

Due to some issues with how Challonge.com works and lacking multiplayer brackets. I have created and updated my own via Gdocs. If you have previous entered or are interested please refer to the first post.

Other news I'm gonna be fronting a cash or something better as a prize. Pending our participants and initial sign ups, the buy in for the pool would be a nice added bonus to the top players. Since I'm planning to front a size-able prize and also looking at Certs/Trophy(s), but mostly to have a good time I'd appreciate the involvement from others either as players or if you'd like to contribute at the event let me know.

This tournament should be allot of fun and worth the time since its a very fun game for everyone even spectators. LETS GET A BIT OF COMPETITION GOING ON THE SIDE FOLKS!

No knowledge of how to play is required everyone will learn as each round is set up. The most wins on the board by a single player is determined as the winner. Each round consists of up to 5 players.

Between @Kerngesund myself and @DaleDukk we have been working on board changes and updates and clarifying and simplifying the existing rules to allow for other categories and still respect the existing runs. The following is the current purposed Rule sets:

General Rules • Video is required, Splits and Time on screen is optional. • Video must show from starting title screen till last cutscene of the run. • Timing is done RTA (Real Time Attack).

ANY% • Complete Branch A. • Time Stops after last hit as screen fades to Final Cut Scene. (When screen boarding appears)

B • Complete Branches A and B. • Time Stops after last hit as screen fades to Final Cut Scene. (When screen boarding appears)

C • Complete Branches A to C. • Time Stops after last hit as screen fades to Final Cut Scene. (When screen boarding appears)

All Branches • Complete all branches from A to D. • Time Stops after last hit as screen fades to Final Cut Scene. (When screen boarding appears)

New Game • Time Starts upon selecting and confirming "New Game" on a new file slot.

New Game+ • Played with a "Continued" existing file with required Chapters Unlocked. • Time Starts upon selecting "Chapter 0: Verse 1" and confirming "Mission Start".

No DLC • DLC Weapons and Outfits are not permitted to be used.

With DLC • DLC Weapons and Outfits are permitted to be used.

General Rules • Video is required, Splits and Time on screen is optional. • Video must show "Chapter Select" screen till "Mission Complete" screen. • Timing is done RTA (Real Time Attack). • Time Starts upon Selecting Mission and Confirming "Mission Start". • Time ends once screen begins to fade to "Mission Complete" Screen.

No DLC • DLC Weapons and Outfits are not permitted to be used.

With DLC • DLC Weapons and Outfits are permitted to be used.

Regarding the dlc outfits and weapons since I do not currently have them but will at some point what are the benifts of outfits? Do they give traits or is it purely cosmetic because adding too many sub categories that can make things rather confusing and messy when trying to establish clear base line rules sets.

Weapons dlc is obvious enough to me from other games but I do want to see things kept simple and easy for everyone to understand and agree with.

I don't really wanna see changes made to the boards till proper discussion is had with both the current runners and interested runners so that we are not pushing anyone away.

thread: Drakengard 3

I look forward to discussing and working on the game(s) so that if there is or was interest from even more people that we can at least get things set up in a position where it's not lacking proper categories and rule sets that are not unfairly restrictive and still allow for change.

@Kerngesund myself and another runner who current run the NieR games were recently looking into getting involved with the Drakengard games I've been looking at them myself for awhile and have recently been going through the game. I am the Series mod for NieR and I was the original Super for Automata During the first year, have moved on to allot of other stuff over the years and things are in good hands there now anyways.

Anyways my concern that was brought from a conversation I had with another interested runner is that DLC can still be allowed but should be a separate subcategory as most games would allow for base game runs excluding DLC because of the potential benefits it has and should be optional and not a requirement.

I have been working on IL runs and will be uploading them when I get my current upload net issues resolved. But I do plan to do runs of Any% and other categories some point soon I hope.

I would hopefully like to bring my knowledge to helping with the boards and maintaining it for new people to be able to pick up and submit for w.e it is they wish. I'd also like to discuss with the current Series mod and mods for the other games about trying to add NieR series as a sub-series or at least be willing to work closer together in making all these boards better for everyone and not off put by lack of or off putting rules and or lack of categories to even submit to.

I was planning to wait till after I get my net issues resolved to contact or even attempt to make a post about this but seeing as you have recently responded I would hope to discuss this with someone who has run the game already.

If you got any questions or would like to talk with me more I would love to work on this game as a start since I have more recent play experience with it and familiar with the DoD and NieR series as a whole since I'd been part of the General non-speedrun DoD/NieR community for the several years now and the start of Automata and before then NieR its self.

I do work on allot of games and teams that moderate boards so I can provide allot of my own experience over the years of doing so with multiple people in variety of communities. My end goal is to be able to run and submit games like anyone else in a community/board that is managed in respect with the people involved with the games be it mod or not. My stance on things is to have things make sense and be reasonable and still allow for flexibility to runners.

thread: The Site

Well that would be a more fitting place but it was in response to how people are trying to dictate that moderation with highscores would differ and should be different then how most communities would most likely already handle things. Mostly in response to @Mandalore comments.

thread: The Site

If there are not other active mods in a game and or they dont agree on to no self verifying then thats something the mods and community decide. I dont see the problem with self verified runs, if no others are active or no other mods. If there are other active mods then if everyone agrees to it mods submit runs like anyone else would and not auto verify them. It's more of a code of conduct thing the mod team and community would establish rather then need to be enforced. And this topic is not related to the actual topic at hand.

Looking forward to another fantastic weekend! <3

Could requiring at least a social link via Twitter and or Discord be something to consider as I do agree with this on many levels. From someone who has been working on marathons and managing boards it makes its allot easier to have a direct and clear communication path between myself and others. It's very frustrating trying to contact people about issues with runs or about marathon submissions if they have next to no reliable social connections like Twitter to sort out a relatively simple issue.

Yeah that is an alright alternative but still would be something to remain option and not required. just take note of the time stamps of when it started and ended then if done as so and should be fine.

I would suggest talking to the moderators of the games that have that as a ruling and discuss it more as that is a very limiting factor to a game and runs that are on multiple platforms and not just PC. Timers on screen should only be an added verification tool not a requirement. If a moderator is too lazy to time a run themselves for verification then they probably should not be moderating the game to begin with.
