No. Just no. I hate this. Removing the customizability of EVERY SINGLE LEADERBOARD AND PROFILE PAGE was a REALLY bad idea. I refuse to donate to “help” the site now so I guess I get to live with this bland dark mode theme (dont even get me started on light mode and how its the default theme). I say we revert to the way things were and instead of this we fix all the bugs that were there, instead of making a new version with evem more bugs. Speaking of that, WHY ARE NOTIFICATIONS STILL BROKEN? (Or is it just me cuz I would feel very stupid lol)
Theres an nsmbw category thats basically this (9-1 any%) and I think its really fun. Not sure how well it would translate into these games but maybe give it a try.
Its not that hard to edit a run - especially if you stream on twitch...
If you have a not completely trash phone (anything made in the past like....ehh...7 years or so) you can easily stream from your phone or if you have a webcam and a decent pc you can also stream from that. Streaming eliminates the worry of not having enough space on your switch or your camera and also avoids the problems associated with the Switch’s built in 30s capture ability not being long enough.
He got banned for spamming after MULTIPLE mods told him (and everyone else that was spmming) to stop. Him being new to the server and disobeying the mods landed him a ban. Eevee said that they were being lenient with everyone else because we had been in the server for a while but it needs to stop. (There is now a bot to prevent it.) And no, not “literally everyone” spams.
Uhhhh....well there’s a section on the sidebar labeled “Guides” that has...well..guides...and there’s a lot of helpful people in the discord.
Liquid% as the category with sub cats being water, lava, poison, and all?
- that would be WAY too many sub categories (theyre already annoying to set up when you have to make multiple of them)
- stop begging for this to become a thing. That just makes it way less likely to become a category.
- “too lazy to get a discord” ...but like most of the help is in the discord...and the people...and insant responses (for the most part)...like its one thing if theyre not allowed to be on discord but laziness is their problem, not everyone else’s.
- just no
Or just run any% and don’t do clips like the normal route does (by normal I mean not top level) - play then you have regular rolling speed and not slow rolls.
I 100% agree with that ^. I also understand that the mods have lives and that’s there’s a lot of runs but when volunteering to become a mod you need to understand that you have responsibilities. If you are too busy to get on then don’t volunteer. While I do understand that yeah this is the busiest time of year for a lot of people you should still have enough time to at least check and verify a couple runs a week. If all of the mods truly are too busy then have some less busy people apply. And if you don’t enjoy moderating anymore then contact the rest of the mods and unmoderated yourself. It does no good to have a ton of mods when only a couple actually verify runs (and it might be one of the things that cause people to be impatient). (Please keep in mind that I’m just throwing my opinion out there, I don’t really like controversial stuff like this so it’s not regular for me to post in these types of forums)
Or just record your run Kappa . Yeah I’ve never seen this issue so I guess just do what otterstone said.
You can still run you just can’t submit to the leaderboards (this should be stated somewhere on the src home page tbh)
YOU DONT NEED TO SUBMIT TO THE LEADERBOARD TO RUN THE GAME!!!!! Same thing with categories - if the category doesn’t exist you can still run it. Here doesn’t have to be a leaderboard to run the game. I 100% agree with video proof being required (despite the fact that my run doesn’t have proof) because of the fact that it’s so easy to cheat nowadays. While this does mean some people can’t submit to the LB it doesn’t mean that they can’t run the game. If you want to compete on the boards, ask around on the discord (linked in the sidebar), there are a ton of people who run with webcam, phones, cap cards, etc. that can help you figure SOMETHING out.
I feel like this went in like 3 different directions but my overall point is that you don’t need to submit your run to run the game. Also, arguing and begging for the rules to go back or like allow something (I.e. people requesting emu on games that don’t allow it cough cough nsmbw) won’t change anything unless you’re fighting for more restrictions on video proof or something.
There technically wasn’t A first person but 2 first people that made history of thags the case OpieOP
But for real tho gg kirbs, sub 1 is soon no doubt about that.
For it to be added as a category there HAS to be a run of it so do it first and then it’ll be added. (And even if it doesn’t get added you can still run it)
I know I’m a little bit late but if you go to your profile and go to pending actions it’ll have a section called “runs awaiting verification” and under that will be all your runs awaiting verification. Next to your run there should be 3 dots. Click/tap on that and select edit run (you might have to hover over it but idk I use mobile).
I’m guessing since not many people would run it that it would become a category on the category extensions page. And even if it doesn’t become a category that doesn’t make the run invalid or anything. You don’t need to submit it to a leaderboard to run it.
