Hey speedrunners! 👋

As a speedrunner and a researcher myself, I’ve always been fascinated by how we learn, improve, and discover new tricks in speedrunning. Whether it’s grinding out a tough section, finding an unexpected glitch, or figuring out a more efficient route, every run teaches us something new.

I’m working on a NYU research project to better understand how speedrunners learn and develop their skills—and I’d love to hear from you!

This 5-10 min survey is completely anonymous, and it’s all about your experience—the games you’ve run, the tricks you’ve found, and the challenges you’ve faced. At the end, you can optionally enter your Speedrun.com username for a chance to win a $50 Amazon Gift Card.

What’s in it?

• What games you’re running now

• How past games helped your speedrunning

• How you find and test new tricks

• The biggest challenges in learning a run

• And more!

If you’ve ever found yourself testing a new trick for hours, studying old runs, or wondering why some strategies work better than others, this survey is for you.

Your insights could help highlight what makes speedrunning such an incredible learning experience. Thanks for your time—and good luck on your next PB! 🚀🔥
