I'm looking to learn how to run Pokemon Hg, but I don't have the money for a capture card. Is emulation allowed, and if not, do you have any cheaper alternatives for capturing the screen?

Hi, I'm fairly new to the speedrunning scene, so I don't know much about the rules yet. But I've found a trick that could be used to skip the opening text. On the title screen, if u go into password, and just press a 12 times, it skips the opening dialog, and you can go straight to the computer. If this breaks any rules, plz point me in the right direction. Hope this helps!
