If you're interested in setting up a new Discord server, then feel free to by all means. I'd be more than willing to hand moderator as well so that way it's nowhere near as inactive as it is right now.

Last time I tried communicating in the Discord, I only would get toxic responses overall because the community in general isn't moderated and their mods practically ignored me for the past two years that I tried doing ANYTHING within the community.

I personally would LOVE to see that change given new moderators, but I doubt it would ever happen since Mark Messhof wasn't the one who created the Discord actually. The only reason it exists in the first place was because someone created it out of their own free will, yet the server is still poorly moderated with both highly hostile and toxic moderators and members alike. Approaching the issue simply was proved to give more hostility than warranted, so I moved on to create my own server just for speedrunning.

As for the discussion of RTA, I'm probably going to take that in account since the IGT is FPS dependent and can affect the length of a run's video. I'll be basing the rules off of Nidhogg 1's speedrun as well and adjust my time as necessary. I'll also as add you as a moderator since I am relatively busy preparing for both university and the next events I'll be attending.

EDIT: UncleAdork appears to be have been global banned by a Speedrun.com moderator as a result of cheating (perhaps in another game?).

Howdy everyone! Sorry for the delay, I've been really busy setting up for an esports event this weekend, so I will be updating all the rules shortly.

For now, the key things you want to remember are that all runs are measured by the in-game timer and must show the full uncut video with gameplay being visible at all times. OBS is not required for recording due to aiding in accessibility but is preferred due to quality Henceforth, for runs that may stand out from others, such as what seems to be a graphical glitch on my run, I will explain in a greater detail next week once I return.

As for why my Nidhogg 2 run is much longer of a video than the run is itself, Nidhogg 2 doesn't run well on my current PC, but I still am capable of running it at 60 FPS when reducing as many graphical effects as possible without destroying the run—just not when recording with OBS at the same time. You can find my specs below to have an understanding as to why this happens. Otherwise, you can even use a cell phone to record your run so as long as it is focused on the gameplay at all times, the camera stays stationary for easily available view, and the raw footage is completely uncut.

Furthermore, when I return next week, I will be providing a guide to reduce the loss of FPS that may occur within the game. I currently play at the lowest graphics settings possible alongside windowed mode within the game's UI, but there are more settings you can turn off within the game's files that will reduce loss of FPS.

Discord (ftw), Slack, or an IRC server all appear to be the most viable options for the most part. If there is already such a group chat, I'd love to take part in it! I am currently in the process of obtaining a bunch of graphics that I'd like to create for VVVVVV so that I can start streaming it with a whole new overlay and possibly even nice splits too :D
