Why do I see so many new accounts with red names and no flags submitting runs recently? They're all completely legit there's no problem, but why do they all look the same?
Look at this newly popular game: https://www.speedrun.com/herr_anwalt_lawyers_legacy ... I had never seen a leaderboard like this
And even in the game I mod https://www.speedrun.com/rider_mobile if you look at the most recent runs, there's so many!
Is it just the normal appearance of new accounts until they're members for long enough that they can customize their profiles or something like that? It just seems really weird
The CE board is already created, but I'm looking for the option to add them to the "leaderboards" scrolling menu of the main game, as I've seen in other games. Maybe I'm blind but it's nowhere to be found in the Edit Game options. Thanks for your help (this should be a quick thread)
I personally really enjoy this (relatively) new feature, but I almost never see any comment under anyone's runs. I'm often shy about commenting myself because I don't know if people like having comments under their own runs or not...
I don't know if it's not popular because it is yet too new on the site or if people genuinely dislike this feature, or just don't really care. Also maybe I'm wrong and some communities make large use of it, of course I can't know about every game on the site. Oh and I'm aware that many games disabled the comments for obvious reasons, especially when there's hundreds or thousands of runners, that's why I'm only considering runs with their comment section open and empty for this post.
Anyway, do you use the comment feature and what do you think about it?
Calling out to all moderators out there, did it already happen that someone submitted a run by posting a shady or malicious link in the submission so that the mod would click it and open some kind of virus or something? I might just be paranoid but I do see weird links sometimes
Hello everyone, I am a Super Mod for the game Rider (Mobile) along with another Super Mod that has been inactive for a while now and not answering my private messages. Since I don't have that kind of power, I was wondering if there was a way or any procedure to kindly remove him from the moderation team with his agreement (if he ever answers) so that I could add other people to help me with moderation while keeping the team fresh and active!
Thank you for your help, have a nice day.
Hello riders! Two very important updates were made to Rider speedrunning today:
š£ Individual Levels were revamped and a new category was added!
ā š„š§š (š”š¼ šš¹š¶š½š) is the basic category you all know: runs based off real time where the flip mechanic doesn't impact your final time.
ā ššš§ (šš¹š¶š½š) is a brand new category where only the in-game time is considered, so flips are allowed and of great use, as they reduce your final time by 0.5s each! You will be able to submit your high scores for each level as long as you provide a video of your ghost's run.
ā ļø šš² šššæš² šš¼ šæš²š®š± ššµš² š°š®šš²š“š¼šæš šæšš¹š²š š°š®šæš²š³šš¹š¹š šÆš²š³š¼šæš² š½š¼ššš¶š»š“ š® šæšš»!
š£ A new rule was added to the Score% category:
ā From now on, runs over 300 points must provide video proof. It is very easy nowadays to modify an image, so we need to be certain that such high scores aren't fake. Again, read the rules carefully to know everything you need.
I hope you enjoy the updates. As always, if you have any suggestion, feel free to DM me! ;)
Hi!
I was wondering how to make one big image showing an entire scrolling level like they do with SMB.
I would like to do this with a mobile game: Rider. Basically I'd like a full view of all the individual levels, but I don't know how it's done and if it's even possible on mobile.
Anyone? š
Hi
I know no one really runs this game, but I was wondering about Safe Mode for my future runs. This gamemode disables chases and death, so in a couple of places it could be a big time save, especially in The Hunt.
I think we should ban it and add "You must play on Normal Mode" in the rules, otherwise all the current runs in the leaderboard would be kinda obsolete. What do you guys think?
(See my post about retiming runs here.)
Hi everyone
After seeing many new runners submit their IL runs, I decided that we needed a strict timing rule for Rider, to ensure precision and reliability of the leaderboards.
From now on, š²š®š°šµ šæšš» šš¶š¹š¹ šµš®šš² šš¼ šÆš² šš¶šŗš²š± š³šæš®šŗš² šÆš š³šæš®šŗš² while respecting the already existing rules (1st frame = pressing play for main categories and wheels touching the ground for IL / last frame = when confetti particles appear on the finish line).
There are many ways to time your run frame by frame, but the easiest way is with this tool. You just have to post your run on YouTube, then follow the instructions on the tool's website. Feel free to send me or @Oxknifer (lead beta tester) a dm if you need help on how to use it. You can also use any video editing software, like Sony Vegas or Premiere Pro, basically anything that has a frame by frame precision. If you don't have any of that, I'll retime every submitted run anyway, but I'd appreciate if you made it easier for me š
If you have any questions about runs or timing methods, feel free to ask! You can answer this thread or send me a private message.
One last thing, let me know if you think I should retime every existing run with the frame by frame rule or if we should just apply it for new runs starting today. I need to know what's best for you guys!
Thanks šļø
I think it would be great to be able to add people in a friends list, we could see when friends are online, get notified of their activity... Basically it would be like following a game, but with a user.
And I'm not asking about an SRC private message feature, even though I'd love to see one, because I guess we have to go through the user's info to contact them... I just think it's sometimes hard to get in touch with a user, if they're inactive on social medias and don't have a Twitch or a Discord... It would be so much easier with a built-in chat system on SRC. But yeah I feel like there's a reason why this is not being implemented that I don't know about.
Hi everyone
I'm a moderator for the mobile game Rider, a game that requires precise timing to the millisecond.
When I need to re-time a run, weather the runners asks it from me or not, I like to do it frame-by-frame (using Sony Vegas), for the most accurate timing. Sometimes though, runs look accurate enough, so I just check with LiveSplit and verify them if I get around the same time.
However this got me thinking about timing in general in speedrunning. Humans can't get a timing right to the milliisecond by just splitting with LiveSplit or using a regular clock, but yet 90% of the time when a runner submits a run using LiveSplit, it gets verified as it is, trusting the runner's start and stop of the timer (this is often the case for longer runs that actually need LiveSplit, which isn't the case for Rider, except for one category).
--> So what should I do? I can't re-time some runs frame-by-frame and verify some others by roughly using LiveSplit. What are you guys's experience with moderation and timing? Do you have any advice?
Thanks! :)
(SI stands for Spyglass Item / MI stands for Mysterious Item)
As the title says, to collect the Conch (6th SI) and 3 of the Mysterious Items, you need to start a NG+. There is one in The Hunt, one in Bloody Roots and one in Breathe. However, the rules say that "the timer ends upon interacting with the final door".
Does that mean that after picking up the last Mysterious items, we have to play through chapter 5 again and see the ending?
Thanks for your answer again, this is the last forum post you'll see from me haha
You can only get an achievement once. When you complete it again after, you earn nothing, because you already have it.
So what about the 100% run? Is it okay to complete the achievements without actually receiving them because you already have it? Doesn't it feel a bit useless? (like the S.O.S one or the "Choice and Consequences" one for example, which just feel like a free time-loss if already earned...)
I probably already know the answer to this, but I felt like it needed to be pointed out.
Hi @lanzaa, @A2ombie and everyone else
Yesterday, after a few runs, I realized I couldn't turn my back at the doll in the red hallway in Brush anymore. Doing it saved almost 10 seconds, because it made your character die faster.
However now, everytime I trigger it, the game locks my camera on the doll, making it impossible to look away. I tried walking backwards before the trigger, but the game locks my mouvements and rotates me around to look at it.
- Videos of it: / / For these 3 clips, I was moving my mouse like crazy and nothing happened, I could only move it up or down.
So has the game been updated? If yes, is there any way to go back to previous versions? Because if there's no way to turn my back to the baby anymore, the fastest time I can get is the one I already have... Or at least I'll never be faster than 32:30.
