I'm trying to come up with a route for the Any% category of this game.
106 Muppet Tokens (duped) Noseferatu -> The Master (bosses are mandatory)
What I do know is that I have to collect all pieces of the 3 amulets in Peacock Purgatory, then leave the level through the warp. This unlocks the HUB selection in the pause menu, allowing Muppet Token duplication to occur. The BONUS letters aren't too much of a detour, so I think that token is worth going for. That is the first token I get. I duplicate the token near the end warp until I get to 104. Then I collect that token and get the jump-pad token for 106. From then it's a boss rush.
Is there a different token early on in the game that is near the start of a level? We may be able to make a more complicated route that requires playing through with a balance of tokens and evil energy until that specific level. Currently with my route, each token takes 55sec to 1min to duplicate (with PS2 FDS). If somebody can find a candidate token option early into the game, please make a post here. I hope to do a 100% run soon so I will keep my eyes out for a decent one.
Anytime you are going to "glide" (press triangle) spin before doing so. You will maintain your forward momentum.
On chests/crates/helmets that contain evil energy, spin/shoot and jump over the center. The evil energy will home into you, eliminating the need to pick them up individually. This also works on some enemies.

So I don't currently have a PB video. My PB is a 39:25, but for some reason I didn't highlight it. That run as well as the 39:59 I DO have a video for do NOT use a skip in Spaceport that potentially saves minutes. Here is a highlight I made today for that skip. Feel free to work it into your routes, but expect me to whip out a 37 soon anyway :)
I have made Meta Knightmare a sub category for both Any% and 100%. This will make the leaderboard a lot less crowded. No runs have been lost. Feedback is appreciated, let me know how you think it looks!
i don't know this game or have played this game or have seen this game much at all but it's clear that you should use subcategories for fixed warps.
There has been a dispute over whether to keep Any% NMS or whether to make Any% No LTS. I personally think Any% NMS should be thrown out as there would be more times for Any% No LTS already (3x as many).
However, I see the point to both sides of the argument. Could one of the mods make a variable for "LTS" for the Any% category? That way, No LTS wouldn't be a separate category, but the top time of 56:35 by Headstrong would still be displayed, as it would still be hugely relevant to the category's competition.

Keep in mind that this is already a compromise. It does NOT get rid of Any% No Major Skips. It also does not reject the idea of Any% No LTS. You'd be able to hide the unranked times by default, but still sort them out manually when viewing the leaderboards, but that's a separate issue that can be dealt with later.
I am seriously disappointed in the moderation of this series. I came to this site expecting everything to be here, expecting the moderators to have done a proper job when creating this series.
This being said, I was in shock when I realized that there was a Rayman game that was not being represented on speedrun.com. To my horror, I noticed it was overlooked by the FOUR people who had ample opportunity to put it on the site.
Rayman Brain Games is a childhood classic. Please, for the love of all that is holy, put the game on the site. It's not fair to give every other game a page then discard this game like it's a pile of sh¤t. Pardon my language, but I'm just furious.
If my demands are not met within 48 hours, I will have to contact a site admin and I will take FULL CONTROL over the moderation on this series and all of your speedrun.com profiles will be in jeopardy. Again, the name of the game is Rayman Brain Games on PSX.

People have discussed the possibility of a 100% speedrun. The main obstacle in the way for most runners is Secret 5.
I've proposed an idea to a few people and have had positive responses overall. Would "All Bosses" be a decent category idea?

What I need to be able to consistently finish runs of this category is a setup. I've been testing out pause frames on emulator and haven't found anything useful so far.
My ideas are as follows: Hold L2 the whole time - Up/right until pass bulge - left until in front of cracked wall - down/left until buttbonk Hold L2 until cracked wall - Up/right until pass bulge - left until in front of cracked wall - down until buttbonk
Any variations of these may work, but it's insanely hard to try every combination. If somebody figures out a setup with a few pauses and input switches, please post it here with screenshots of the paused game where you made the switches, if that makes sense.

Any% = Beat the game, no restrictions 79 Shines = Beat the game, while obtaining every shine from each stage, except Delfino. 96 Shines = Beat the game, while obtaining every shine from each stage, including Delfino. 120 Shines = Beat the game, while obtaining all shines. 50 Shines = Beat the game, without Gelato Beach skip. 58 Shines = Beat the game, while obtaining the 8 main episode shines from each stage.
Everything here is fine and dandy until you realize that there is an issue with 50 Shines. I get it, I get it, when Gelato Beach skip was found, people wanted to keep this as a category, either for the memories, or to look back on to see how much the game has grown. But it is irrelevant now because of Early Yoshi-Go-Round (Pinna Park 5 skip). Why put all these restrictions on this category? Perhaps this category should be changed to include every shine 1-7 in the stages. Yes, this includes Bianco Hills 1. 51 Shines would make much more sense, and it's much easier to define. It would be your "Any% No Major Skips" category or "Any% No Shine Skips" if you need "major skip" defined. I would never run 50 Shines, but I certainly will do this. I wouldn't be surprised if other saw this as a less arbitrary category, as we will NEVER have to change the rules if new skips are found. Episodes 1-7 GG done. No "no gelato beach skip" and then "oh wait you can't skip this too lol" when other things are found. What are your opinions on this? I'm fairly certain I've expressed this to Milk in some fashion before, but this post 1. makes it public and 2. elaborates on why it makes more sense (to me personally, at least). Perhaps change a setting to where your runs with Shovel Knight don't obsolete your Plague Knight runs? Right now, the 3 Plague runs are hidden unless you specifically change the drop down.
