New to speed running. Interested in running retro games. I've been using a Retron 5 to practice as I am a cartridge collector and don't see the point in owning them if I can't play them. Been doing this for a while. I've been told the Retron slows down the games and isn't valid in all forums to use to submit runs anyway. Looking for advice on what technology to purchase as well as the emulator to use for a lowish/medium cost set up for emulation and capture. This includes looking for advice on computer/specs. (My home computer is for work and adding this sort of thing would not fly!) I'm mostly playing nes, snes, and genesis games. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

New to speed running and this is the game I decided to start with. Grew up with it and seemed like the perfect entry point. I haven't invested in any capture tech as yet. Wondering if I could submit a run pointing a camera at the screen? I currently have any % down to 16 and was looking to submit once I shave off another minute. Any advice on cheapish ways to capture or what technology i should get is greatly appreciated too. I am mostly playing off a retron 5. Thanks!
