Seems weird to me doing it in any order that isn't Alphabetical but that sounds fine. I'm busy today but I'll try to remember to get on it tomorrow.
I don't think you understand the problem Andra.
Sorting them alphabetically in whatever program you want is fine. Sorting them on the actual level leaderboard past all the preexisting levels is not
Possibly Blantas but I shouldn't have to hack to website to be able to sort Alphabetically D:
For those unaware, this is what it's like to add ONE new IL to the leaderboard on a good "SRC isn't lagging" day
I'm all for the idea of ILs for each mission, but I'm not a masochist D: Since we already have all the school ILs and such, it would be a complete nightmare to do this. I or some other mod would have to be REEEEAAAALLLY motivated to do this.
If my "Days since LS% was asked to be put on the Leaderboards" counter reaches 100, I'll do it.
We're at 3.
"SSU (Clerk Skip)"
Change (or remove) the brackets if another method is found.
Makes it easy to explain for non technical people (there is a skip that uses the clerk...) while still being technically correct and future proof? Only downside is having a bracket/subtitle for a category, and it's longer (no where near a mouth full imo)
It's still not even all of the Los Santos territories though D:
There are more than the normally unlockable gang territories
Plus you unlock more gang territories in Return to Los Santos then you do in the beginning. So many the name should be different? Not "All Gang Territories"
Otherwise cool I guess, seems a bit boring to me but if you like it whatever :P
No need to lock the thread tbh, not like any harm is being done, plus some other things are being discussed here.
Not sure why this is still a discussion of whether it's legit or not. There are repeated single frame mouse movements in at least two different parts of the run (Home Invasion and You've Had Your Chips) which are absolutely humanly impossible. These by the way are exactly the same kind of impossible movements which were used in the previous cheated run submitted by someone with the same username.
Now unless I'm missing something I've rejected the run, and we should all move onto useful things, such as the others strats they posted which might actually be useful to everyone. Whether anything else is "legit" or "RTA" or anything else in this run is not relevant unless A.) Someone else unknown (or with the same username) submits a very fast time without these mouse movements or B.) It's (imo impossible) proven that the mouse movements were legit.
Cool You've Had Your Chips. That's all I'm watching as it's 1am Christmas Day and other people have looked way more than me so fuck it.
I expect to wake up to a removed account tomorrow again I guess, shame, not even sure you need to cheat to be good.
Merry Christmas all.
Super vague question but I'll try to help I guess.
I'm assuming you're using OBS but unfortunately I have no idea how to use it, however my one piece of advice would be to stream the game in 4:3. Even if you play it in 16:9 ultimately it's a PS2 era game and they look better at 4:3, it also makes it super easy to put the splits next to it.
As for how actually to resize stuff in OBS I have no idea, but google says something about edit mode?
Already a thread for this on the GTA IV forums. http://www.speedrun.com/gtaiv/thread/zq3qn
But yes, what you did was what I did too. Seems fine.
So the new patch just got released, and I've been pretty vocal about it on twitter about how terrible it is for me. EFLC stutters like crazy on Patch 3, but thankfully it's easily downgradeable (which fixed my problems).
I heard others were having more luck though? I was just wondering what changes people noticed.
I thought I would ask on here since we've all played the game recently and don't speculate like "Oh yeah it runs way better for me! I haven't played it for 8 years though!"
Oh yeah you can use a taxi, I did that without even thinking about it lol
Not sure exactly how long the cooldown is, but I think a mix of both stratigies is probably best. Sometimes when a mission/skydive/whatever else ends near a Helicopter could use it for 1 (or more if lucky) drug wars then use Henrique for the next.
I'm currently making my way through the Club Management stuff, and for the mission with the fire truck I can confirm that just calling 911 and asking for a Fire Truck works! Saves having to drive the Truck across the map :D
EDIT: FUCK FIGHT CLUB. Took me ~3 hours to beat it, finally got a strategy of rounds 1-3 whatever, 4-5 steal the bat (losing a bit of HP normally to do it) but then go speedy and fuck people up in 3 hits, 6 lose half HP getting the first knife then winning with that. But really though god that was horrible.
OK so far I've come up with a few possible approaches to the drug wars (which seems to me to be the biggest routing sticking point so far). But currently the best seems to be:
- Taxi to Drug War marker, Call Henrique for the fastest car he offers (Bullet, Turismo or F620), drive fast car into marker (so it's parked nearby), use fast car to drive to objective and then complete it (either with the required vehicle or with fast car if possible). Upon completion Taxi to next Drug War marker and repeat. The problem is Henrique appears to have a cooldown on how often you can use him, and I can't find a reliable way around it. I've tried Video Editor Warping and then saving to advance time but this seems to only sometimes(?) work. If there isn't a good way to skip the cooldown then I guess other things could be done for awhile (Missions, Skydiving?) until it's available again.
Otherwise there is always:
- Use a Helicopter and get really lucky with the Drug War type (Stash doesn't require you to use a force vehicle) but even this has some problems, as sometimes the stash is hard to access and a shootout is pretty slow. Also the obvious problem of "luck".
Not sure where to note this down so I'll just do it here but I just started a drug war in Dukes and it gave me a somewhat nearby one that had a Helicopter as the drug vehicle, which end point was just north of the northern Algonquin one. I could then use the Helicopter for that drug war by landing near the marker, waiting for the blades to stop spinning, starting the drug war and then pushing the helicopter away from the pay n' spray sign. The Helicopter seems to be very useful for getting to the vehicle for that marker.
EDIT: The drug vehicle was a Helicopter for that one too lol. The end point was the same little boat thing at the very north of Algonquin again.
