Hey, i don't specifically own the PS4 version to test if the current PC route is viable. Damage glitch can still be done on 60FPS / V-sync though i'm not sure on PS4, you may have to test this. Get tornado skill with adol and spam it 5+ to see if you get crazy damage. Apart from that your all good, the route abuses the fact that we have damage glitch since we skip a raid that locks us into keeping the base orichalcum weapons.

How to obtain Japanese text in the steam version.

First of all, start with a fresh install and browse to local files in steam folder: (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Ys Origin\release)

In this folder you'll see 4 files named "data." and 3 named "data_us."

You want to change the "data." to "data_us." and then the "data_us." to "data.] essentially swap the names

You will then need to get the game to run with a Japanese locale. Unfortunately Window 10 locale change doesn't work.

We can get round this by installing a locale emulator here: Locale Emulator - https://github.com/xupefei/Locale-Emulator/releases

This essentially tricks the game to run with a JP locale and allows JP text to be displayed

I can't take all the credit for finding this. I found an old steam forum post saying that someone managed to get it to work back in 2014 here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/207350/discussions/0/648813576248955017/

Secondly, here is a run that i did on the Steam JP text version.

So a while back i discovered that you can change the language of the steam version to Japanese by removing a certain game file. I tested to see if this caused the game to behave unexpectedly and i came across no errors and the only thing that had changed was the text.

Due to Japanese text being faster i proposed to the Ys Discord community on their thoughts on allowing this to be accepted. We eventually came to the conclusion that this should be allowed.

First of all, here is a video explaining how to obtain Japanese text in the steam version:

• Right click Ys: The Oath in Felghana on Steam, Properties, Local Files, Browse Local Files... then open "release" folder.

• In this folder you want to rename/delete the file called "data_us.na" (You can rename it back later if you want english text again)

• Open the game, Japanese text!

So was on Xbox one version, all i was doing was spamming magic. Which the "you cannot use magic while swimming" was stopping the stamina from draining. Also will regenerates your stamina

Was doing runs earlier and managed to get a 1h 22m. Which I used this glitch to swim to coral sword and early fire spell.

Edit - found the journal dialogue at the start of islands gives the same effect, you can swim without losing stamina as long as that text is up

So you can spam magic while swimming to halt stamina loss while swimming.

Not really sure if it's known though this can be used to get the coral sword early and get to other places early

so i tried with a japanese disc, i can install the game and everything. Though when i go to run the game nothing happens. The game sit in the background task.

Anyone know where i could get the Japanese version (PC) for this game? I found disc versions on Ebay, though not sure if they would be compatible with an EU disc drive etc.

I accidentally done this in a run. Was this known?
