Yes it should be :D (I know I'm not a mod, but official releases are typically always allowed)

I'm so confused... every time I use the noose in the spots used in any%, with the whip out, Fester just... well, festers there. Is there a specific input you have to do to get the zip to work?

The Sub-12 dream is here, folks. Who wants it?

United StatesJSR_7 years ago

I am super-late to the party... and at first I agreed with Sparkover, but after reading Rottdawg and Random's arguements, and Tarbash's addition, I actually agree with the "any order" arguement. It does feel to me kind of like a Mega Man game. Sure, there's an "intended order", but you can play any stage you want without a cheat code or anything. And the same applies here.

The rules still haven't been changed btw. Just a heads-up :)

I'm not a mod, but AFAIK it is, same as Virtual Console version, GBA version, or GameCube version.

United StatesJSR_7 years ago

I can't even walk on the overworld in the GBA version lmao good luck slinking :P

United StatesJSR_7 years ago

I'm just waiting for someone to run the GBA version

And at the end of the day, regardless if we are all just dirty Zelda runners or not, we are all (mostly) Tetris runners, and ive yet to see one non-mod back the changes the mods made without consent from the community. This is the kind of thing that will cause runners to delete their runs from your leaderboard and start their own.

Don't believe me? Ask Donkey Kong Country runners, or GoldenEye 007/Perfect Dark runners. Ask runners from ZeldaSpeedRuns.com about decisions made without that community's consent, and how that worked out for the ZSR.com boards.

The bottom line: the game is bigger than the mod. The community is bigger than the mod. Don't you EVER forget that.

Just my 2 cents (and I know my time is over a year old, I was thinking about getting back into it after GDQ though).

I'm fine with changing leaderboards, but doing so without the consultation of the community first is a bad idea, as you can see. And the community is a collection of all of the runners of the game, as well as the mods. Making a major change like this does seem to minimalize the 0-start category, which is the most popular category. Newer runners are going to see this leaderboard in the future and they're going to run a different category than the one most of us ran when we started.

Just my two cents. Not attacking anyone. Just saying that a mod of a game needs to keep the game and community in mind when they change things that could affect a group's accomplishments. The backlash I'm reading here and on discord might be a sign that you guys should reach out to all of the runners and find out what we all think the best course of action would be.

lol about halfway through I was thinking, "dude is he serious" and then the LULZ

you had me man damageless low% is probably the hardest "sane" run I would try, but even that sounds like too much to be fun.

Is there anywhere that we could use to quickly learn this game? Any guides, tutorials, etc? I appreciate any and all help :D

United StatesJSR_7 years ago

Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but I was curious and needed to ask you guys :)
